Florida salt-water trout fishing
This is my go-to product for salt-water trout fishing in the shallow waters (usually 3 to 6 feet) of the Gulf of Mexico. Usually we mate it to a 1/4 ounce yellow-painted jig head with a red eye with a foot of 20# fluorocarbon leader. We catch trout, Spanish mackerel, small grouper and the occasional catfish and flounder with this jig. We've even done a challenge on the boat to see if any other jig, bait or lure can get more bites than the DOA Cal Shad Green. Thus far, the only thing to come close is live shimp (which attracts more bottom feeders, smaller species and genrally less-desierable fish). The fish do tend to bite the tails off, leaving you with a worthless lure. Usually we catch three to five fish per lure before something bites off the tail. But its a simple enough task to exchange them on the existing hook. Usually the hook will last the month before needing to be retired.Buying them in the 50-pack on Amazon saves me about 40% over the local ultra-discount box store.

Very effective
I recently got back into fishing after retirement. I've had fun using this DAO Cal shad tail catching, flounder, mangrove snapper and snook. There are times I just don't want to deal with live bait. This is my go-to when I just want to get in a couple of hours of fishing in.

Good lure
I fish murky/muddy waters and the snook love em, favorite lure to fish with.

Choosing the right bait for the conditions
I like everything about these baits! Rig them right and they have great action! I fish them in the shallow murky and muddy waters and the trout and redfish action is non stop when you find the correct retrieve.

These are most definitely not red. Orange
False advertising, these are orange tail.
