Typical Osprey Overview
Typically well done "cliff notes" for the subject, bridging the gap between the English Civil War and the Age of Marlborough.

Interesting Book
I was really interested in the evolution from the whole pike and shot in the 1600s to the line infantry in the 1700s, so I thought this was a good book so see. Well it wasn't exactly what I wanted it was really interesting. My only complaint is that some of the plates descriptions didn't match up the pictures. The horse grenadier is shown wearing a back & breast plate and a helmet while the description is completely different. Another plate shows a horsemen with no armor and description talks about how the troops were armored. Aside from this most of the book is good and Im sure it was not all that easy to find information on the British army at this time.

This was a great price for a book I needed but bought this and another book from the same supplier but had to pay the postage on both books even although ordered from same source at the same time.

British Army In Transition
Great book, good depth of detail and background of the different countries involved and a number of the battles described, also a great list of other authors dealing with the same subject.
