Not my favorite, but it works
This was the first pair of scissors-style clippers I've ever tried for our cats.I normally get the ones with the larger gripper-style handles, but the blades neverseem sharp anymore, doing more splintering than cutting. I even bought a new pairto be sure it was in top shape, and same problems. I decided they must have redesignedthose to work mainly on dogs now.So, got a pair of these to try.If you are a man, you probably will have a VERY difficult time using them. These arevery small scissors. I don't have large hands, so I can use them, but none of the guyscan get their fingers in the holes. Ladies, think cuticle scissors, and you'll understandyour working room for your own hands. You have to be sure to have the screw head facing the cat to cut the right way. It actuallyhelps to make sure you don't cut too much that way, so it works all right. It still doesn't make as clean a cut as I'd like to see. In fact, you can hear the crunching ofthe nail material when you cut, which has a little "ewww" factor. However, they DO do a betterjob of cutting the cat nails than the other styles of pet clippers have done. I do find that I haveto trim a little more often with these, but that's doable. They leave a smoother cut than the otherstyles of clippers I've used, but don't expect a perfectly smooth tip. You'd have to use a file for thatstill. (I let our cats do their own trim-ups on their scratching posts.) For those who say it is crushingtheir cat's nails, be sure that the scissors are held vertically, in the same direction as the toenail is growing out.Makes sense? Don't make it go crossways, which might indeed crush the nail instead. The cats don't seem too bothered by these either (at least, any more than any other clipper! One doesn'tcare about getting his nails done, but our little girl cat doesn't like anyone messing with her feet forany reason!), which makes this a plus for these clippers. Since they require a little more dexterity on thepart of whoever is cutting, I do have someone else hold the cats now so I can control the little scissorsbetter.I can't vouch for how long they'll stay sharp because I haven't been using them for an extended period of time.(We've had them for a month, and I trim once a week.)Overall, for what they are and how they are made, I think they should be cheaper. But, they do what they advertise - trim your cat's nails without cutting their quick.UPDATE 11/20/10: We've been using these for a while now, and both cats don't seem to mind too much. However, it is very weird - they have disappeared! I think the cats must've hid them so I couldn't cut theirnails anymore. That's my theory anyway, and I'm sticking to it until they show back up.It has done a good job of keeping their nails cut without hurting them or cutting too close to the quick.

Super easy clipper
I keep this next to bed and when cat is relaxed I just snip a claw here and there - love this thing.

Just what I needed!
I wished I would have known to buy these over a decade ago! There is no splintering of claws unlike EVERYTHING else. The only downside I'd give it is that they are uncomfortable for me to hold, but it's well worth it to not have splintering.

Favorite Feline Clippers
Our vet used a "guillotine" type clipper, so that's the one we originally bought. Our cats hated it--scared them to death. A local pet emporium had this model and suggested we try it. Love, love, love. Quick, easy to use on both our cats, and really helps tame those "hooks." Very Highly Recommended.

Good enough
Not crazy sharp, but they get the job done. The size is good and they usually cut without splintering the nail. I do wish they were a little bit sharper though. The price was good, so really I guess I can't complain too much. The ones I've owned in the past have always been much harder to wield (the big, long handled kind kitties see coming from a mile away) and much duller (ones that really crush the nail rather than cutting it, leaving you with a mess and an unhappy kitty). The cats don't seem to mind them too much either (I've trimmed 3 of my cats and my bff's cat) and they work much better than even my good human nail clippers.

Good for toy breed puppies
This product is a life saver for my Pomeranian puppy. All the other clippers (from good brands) that I found were so big, I was worried I’d slip and take a toe off.Going in small slivers with these has been a game changer for us. Will be recommending these to other people with small dogs. She is currently 4 lbs and there are no signs of these being too small for her nail size.

Not for small dog nails
So if you are a groomer and buy these for smaller nails don’t they will not cut chihuahua nails but they do great for puppies and cats

Works well for bunny nails.
These work great for trimming my bunny's nails. We got one from target and it just shattered her nails and twisted them as it cut. This one works well and does a clean cut all the way through without twisting or making her too uncomfortable. It's a little small on the handles and rubs my finger a bit after I've done all her nails but it works really well and doesn't hurt her.

Small and dull
I always buy Safari for my dogs so I was excited to get those for my cat. The handle was too slim and hurt to hold, plus the blades are pretty dull, you really have to push and it seemed uncomfortable for my kitty. I bought a cheaper pair locally and prefer those.
