Great product, easy installation, fits the Deadbolt and prevents the lock from being opened once engaged.

One of the maintenance lost their master keys at our complex and they won't replace everyone's locks. They swept the situation under the rug. This will work wonders during night time and you can sleep in peace knowing that even someone with a key cannot unlock the door. I would also suggest replace the default half inch screws to the plate and the dead lock with 4 inch exterior screws. And make sure that the plate side hits the king stud. That way if they were to kick the door, they dont have to just break the door casing, they have to fight with the screws into the studs as well. Another small guy was about to get through those red handled motel door travel locks. This works so much better Edit: works great. Easily able to remove during rental inspections and easily installable again. You would break the key before breaking this device.

Fabulous solution for outswinging (due to hurricanes) Florida doors and inswinging doors as well doesn't matter it works with both. Steel and Strong. To install, merely loosen the two screws on your dead bolt plate, slide this half circle plate and the hinged plate under the deadbolt's front plate, so they meet together (have to be oriented to fit correctly) under your deadbolt. Tighten the screws after you have determined the placement of the folding hinge to stop the deadbolt knob from turning. YES, EVEN IF SOMEONE HAS A KEY OR KNOWS HOW TO PICK A LOCK, THEY ARE NOT GETTING IN! Install in just minutes, all you need is a Phillips head screwdriver. In the times we live in, this could save your life. You will not regret your purchase but you may regret it if you don't buy it. By the way, I am not compensated in anyway to write this review. Easy to install and works well.

Worked perfectly. A must have for anyone needing extra security. Extremely pleased with how it's held up perfectly. I put on two doors In Less than 10 minutes and im an elderly woman who is not mechanically inclined. Gives you true peace of mind.

I did not know this existed until I was trying to find additional security on a door that opened outwards in a rental property. I live alone and knowing many people have a key to my door makes me uncomfortable. This has added a ton of security for me to use at night or when I’m home. I know I still have to let the landlord and maintenance in of course, but this prevents surprise visits when I may be showering or such. Now I only wish it could work remotely as well (smart lock). It was incredibly easy to install. Only required the type of screw driver your deadbolt uses. You loosen the deadbolt casing and slip this over it. Then tighten it up again. It’s about a 5 minute install and no damage to the door. The best part is there were a few times someone tried to come in unexpectedly and they worked perfectly. So they’ve already proven themselves. I’m definitely going to have these on all my exterior doors going forward.

The product installs very easily, and is very effective. No worries about it self-closing unintentionally. When in the locked position, there is NO way to bypass the lock. The one problem occurs when not everyone is home and someone (by habit) flips it shut. For that reason, I'd recommend this for people who live alone in apartment buildings (where tradespeople (strangers) sometimes have to enter your unit), but not so much for bigger families.

The description is misleading. It did not fit my lock - not every lock is flat under the lock cover.
