AC/DC: Stiff Upper Lip Live

10-star DVD
This is absolutely the coolest, best sounding, best edited concert DVD I have had the pleasure of watching. I can summarize it just by saying that I had one huge grin on my face as I watched the entire concert. These forty-year olds can ROCK better than any band out there--they go literally non stop for over 2 hours!!!Yes I will admit that Johnson best singing days are behind him, but his enthusiasm, energy & sincerity more than make up for it. Angus is God and this DVD will make you a believer (if you aren't already). The band is as tight as ever.AC/DC (as you will see in the extra footage) is ALL about the show and just rocking their ... off. And the thing that stands out the very most is that they are haven't a GREAT time performing. The crowd can feel this and rewards the band by going nuts the entire concert. You can actually see as the concert goes on the energy levels going up by both the band and crowd--each feeding off one another. It's so awesome. If you like rock, even if you are so-so on AC/DC, do yourself one BIG favor and get this DVD. It will be a cornerstone of your collection. I think I'm going to get happy :) and watch this concert....again!!!!!

Kicks...
Being old enough to have witnessed the history of Rock n' Roll, it is my humble opinion that four bands form the corners of the Universe: the Beatles, the Stones, Led Zepplin, and, of course, AC-DC. Also, IMHO, Angus Young is the last surviving guitar god. This band defines energy and androgyny, and getting a little long in the tooth hasn't hurt them a bit. I saw them on this tour, and the DVD does it justice. You can tell when a band has reached the ultimate level, because it's hard to find a "greatest hits" album, because, quite frankly, everything they did is great. There really isn't a bad track on this, so it is hard for me to pick one out over the others. Get this disc, turn down the lights, do air guitar with Angus and imagine you are the fifth member of maybe the greatest... band of all time.

Awesome setlist!
This was the first AC/DC concert I discovered on YouTube, but then it got blocked, so I bought the DVD because it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. They kept playing hit after hit, I've never seen a crowd quite like AC/DC crowds, they performed "Problem Child," "What Do You Do For Money Honey," and "Up To My Neck In You," and how often do another song after "For Those About To Rock"?!?!?!

Stiff Upper Lip Live
AC/DC is my favorite band. This is a great movie, and I would suggest this to anyone who enjoys AC/DC. Of course, all their concerts, at least since the Razor's Edge tour, have been similar, with many of the same props. AC/DC's concerts are very exciting, and I would recommend buying all of their concerts/documentaries on dvd if you are on AC/DC fan.The reason I give this product only 4 stars instead of 5 is because the dvd is in Regions 2,3,4,5, and 6, but not 1. Regions are a type of dvd format, called regions because different regions on the earth save it in their own format. Region 1 is the format that the U.S., Canada, and Bermuda have their dvd's in. My dvd player and playstation would not play the dvd due to "region restrictions," due to the fact that because I live in the U.S., the dvd players would read in region 1, but this does not play in region 1. Luckily, my computer can change to read in regions 2,3,4,5, or 6, and thus I watched this on my computer. I still recommend buying this, but because I don't know whether it was just that I bought it from a different company on amazon instead of amazon itself to save money (though the place I bought it from says it ships from Florida, U.S.), or whether all of the Stiff Upper Lip Live dvds come in these regions. I warn buyers that if you live in U.S., Canada, or Bermuda and do not have something that can adjust to play region 2,3,4,5, or 6 dvds, then you will not be able to play this dvd and you will waste your money buying it.

Best AC/DC Concert DVD I've ever seen!
I own Live At Donnington and No Bull, and I've got to say this is the best AC/DC performance I've seen, with the hits we all love, and the classics some of us may have forgotten, AC/DC puts it all out there in the best way possible. Video and Audio quality is amazing, and some say the camera changes too fast but I got used to it and think it made it better. This production ultimately shows that AC/DC is the greatest Rock N Roll experience money can buy, and that they can be considered the greatest band of all time. Must have for all fans of the band, and great introduction to folks who may not know as much about them. 5 out of 5!

a good solid set which could have been a better DVD
First of all, let me say that I thoroughly enjoyed this energetic set and so will any AC/DC fan. However, I agree with a couple of other reviews here: Brian's voice is shot (funny what happens if you smoke into your 50s) and the editing it too choppy to really see much. One of the reasons I bought this DVD and not Live at Donnington (which I want to see since it's the band in earlier days) is that I've read that LAD is overdubbed, as are other AC/DC DVDs.Well, I suspect that's what's going on here too. Some guitar parts are just too crisp and too clear to be a live set and most songs don't let you get a look at Angus' fingerwork. The bonus material is not much - an uninspired interview with the band is pretty much all there is.These guys still rock out though.

Let There Be Rock
The concert featured here on this dvd was recorded on June 14, 2001 on the band's Stiff Upper Lip Tour at the Olympiastadion in Munich, Germany.AC/DC always put on a huge show and here is no exception. Both the production and sound quality are superb on both VHS and dvd versions.AC/DC know how to make a grand entrance. Indeed when I saw them live in 2009 a steaming train burst onto the stage as the band make their entrance. Here on Stiff Upper Lip the entrance is just as thrilling as guitarist Angus Young appears on stage doing his legendary duckwalk whilst playing the opening riff of Stiff Upper Lip, before being joined by Brian Johnson's vocals and then suddenly the thunder breaks loose and a gigantic bronze statue of Angus (which Angus himself jokingly refers to as 'Junior' in the interview included on the disc) breaks through the background. It is an impressive sight. The impressive staging doesn't end there however, as the concert also features the trademark giant 'Hell's Bell' which lowers from the staging during a performance of 'Hells Bells' as Brian takes a long sprint back up to the stage from the runway which goes down into the crowd, before taking a leap and swinging on the rope suspended from the bell to be in sync with its clanging chimes. Also featured is the giant inflatable 'Rosie' which appears during 'Whole Lotta Rosie' and also there is a rising platform which Angus performs a long solo on much to the delight of the fans.Speaking of Angus, fans have came to expect a cheeky strip tease on stage when AC/DC perform and once again he does not disappoint as he performs a hilarious strip down to his boxers, which usually always bear a flag of whatever country the band are performing in. Performing on stage in his trademark schoolboy uniform complete with plaster on his knee is always fun to see, but the man is actually a guitar genius and no outfit, duckwalk or staging can take that away from him. Ten minute solos as he runs around the stage are flawless as he pauses only to cup his hand to his ear to gesture to to the crowd to make even more noise. And they duly oblige of course. The remainder of the band are relentless providing the pounding rhythm throughout and much credit should be given to Malcolm Young (brother of Angus) on rhythm guitar as he does his famous 'plugged in' stance from beginning to end. Phil Rudd on drums and Cliff Williams on bass guitar together provide the beat and rhythm to compliment the Young brothers guitars effortlessly and indeed the whole show appears slick and flawless througout. The performance of 'Thunderstruck' with its amazing build up to pounding drums and chants of 'Thunder' before Angus takes up the riff, is my favourite perfomance here, just as it was when I saw the band live myself. Other stand out performances for me here are 'Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be' and 'Shoot To Thrill' but there isn't any part of the concert I don't enjoy. 'You Shook Me All Night Long' is a crowd favourite as is 'Let There Be Rock' but the passion from the thousands packed into the stadium never fades as inflatable guitars are waved aloft and flashing horns worn on thousands of heads. The interview and backstage footage is also worth a watch, but of course the concert is the main reason you want to watch this dvd. It is always good to include some bonus footage or interviews however and I found them interesting to watch here.If you are a fan of the band then Stiff Upper Lip is a must have for your collection. I am only hoping I get another opportunity to witness them performing live before they decide to call it a day, as watching this dvd brings it home to me time and time again just how good AC/DC are.
