Big improvement from Fiblink
Many people in Socal have been buying Madmac lures and have been trolling fast (10-14 knots) but trolling fast requires a heavy trolling rod as many of the bluefin caught trolling range between 50-100+lbs. my buddy had bought a fiblink last year and had no issues with his rod. I was a bit skeptical about buying this rod as I would assume it does not have all the same components like found in the major brands like shimano, calstar, seeker, etc. I have some nice rods and all i care about is getting rod that is the best bang for your buck. I purchased the 80-120lb straight butt trolling model and paired it with a Penn International visx20 with 600 yards of 100lb braid. I have read in the about the guides being off and looking at this rod, the guides are inline. Another complaint was people have reels feeling a tad loose when they tightened the nuts as much as possible. This reel seat is used to accomadate many reel sizes and will say it fits very well with the penn international 20 visx. I would recommend using a shimano tld 30, penn international 16 and bigger reels meant for trolling. I will give this rod a 5/5 as its stout and will be used for trolling fast for these bluefin. I did see reviews of guys buying the 50-80lbs rods for bluefins up to 50lbs and the rod had snapped. I’m not sure if the line ratings are true so I went ahead and bumped up a size so it can accommodate more strength so we will see. I will make an updated review but in the meantime, im very satisfied for the best bang for your buck trolling rod here in southern california.***Update*** Found Bluefin on 9/10/23 10 miles out from Dana Point Harbor and was trolling Spreader Bars when I got hit by a 80+ bluefun. Our fault was not having the boat in gear but we fought the fish a good 20 minutes before the fish spit the hook out. Got another strike again and we were good. The rod held its rating and will say we got a rod from the good batch so Im happy with the purchase. Again best bang for your buck with decent materials competitive to all the major offshore fishing brands here in Southern California

Complete surprise!
Couldn’t believe the price for this rod! Was expecting something cheaply made, but it is far from it! Needed an affordable roller style rod for planer trolling that would last. The reel seat is heavy duty and the double metal locking rings locks the reel on tight. I still use a reel clamp to secure the reel to the rod however, and the clamp fits perfectly over the reel seat. The metal rollers are of good quality and have been performing well. Been using the rod on every trip out to planer troll and after 1.5 seasons no signs of corrosion or failure. Highly recommend this rod if you’re looking for something affordable yet quality made.

Something’s wrong with this picture…
So I have to say that the rod looks great, however this one failed to perform. Take a look at the picture that I included with this review. The base with the reel seat spun around 180 degrees once it was used. Totally unsatisfactory……

Almost Perfect
I purchased two 50-80 lb Fiblink Trolling Rods for a Florida Middle Grounds Fishing Trip. We planned on possibly taking large fish so the 50-80lb class rods were selected. The price point was excellent and the rods look good. Both rods were tested and performed equally well against two $300 Penn 60lb tuna rods. Both rods were matched with a Pen Senator 6/0 reels and 100lb braided line. My son and guest landed 1/2 dozen large groupers each and an assortment of other fish, a 6-foot shark was landed on one pole and a 40 lb tuna was landed on the other. The stiff 50-80 lb action performed well for trolling hook-ups, and getting grouper off the bottom. Both rods provided good controllable action for the shark and tuna. My only complaint and why I gave them 4 stars is the reel retention collars on both rods need improvement. They work as designed but the threads are a little loose and this could make them suspectable to stripping if you are not careful about the amount of tension you place on the reel retaining collars. The loose clearance of the threads also allowed the reels on both poles to loosen up multiple times while landing fish. Several attempts were made to securely hand-tighten the primary and secondary locking collars but the reels still came loose. With the use of Lock Tight on the threads, we were able to solve this issue. The manufacturer should look into this issue if they want to produce a truly 5 Star Rod. Overall I am happy with the purchase and I would purchase this brand of rod again.

Uncomparable quality for the price!
I am AMAZED at the quality of this rod! As soon as it came in I unpacked it expecting sub par hardware and I was blown away! Amazing rod for the price. Thought about mating it with a penn 9/0 but it's increasingly difficult to find one so I did some research and decided to go with a seafire 9/0. I dont forsee any problems reeling in big sharks with this setup.

Don't Do It
Third time was not the charm ordering this item:1. First time - my rod never arrived, Amazon customer service had me cancel, and re-order;2. Second time - instead of sending an 80-120lb rod a lower rated rod was delivered. Amazon had me return and re-order;3. Third time - After a lengthy delay, I received the right rod finally. This time it came damaged. Guides were rough, jagged, and broken. The guides that were not jagged looked like they were not made with quality hardware. Looks weak and chatters like crazy. Amazon customer service offered a $10 credit for what would cost over $40 to repair. If you think you might get a quality item at a good price, think again. Sorry Fiblink if this was all an Amazon issue and if you have other quality products. But the 80-120 rod I received was junk and would cause line failure.

Worked well
This pole is a little heavy but works really well catching snapper and grouper
