Very nice and even unusual nice warm color. Recommended for cabinet lighting
Had to replace one of our over cabinet lights and tried the one below and found is quite excellent. I was wary of using LED strips since while they are very energy efficient with a very long life, I previously found that their color was not sufficiently warm for use (for the required wife acceptance factor [WAF]) inside vs incandescent or florescent. I bought several different ones to try and found this one to be quite excellent, as mentioned, and at a good price. The color is very nice plus the leds are enclosed in a plastic rope making it much easy to position as you like vs just leds on a strip. Lastly, the transformer supplied only gets very slightly warm since the strip/rope runs at 24 volts vs 12 volts meaning the current is half that of other strips (since heat is proportional to the square of the current). Lastly, the rope uses waterproof connectors so it is suitable for outside use and is extendable using the same transformer. The price for 12’ is only $21 delivered. I would go with the 12 footer vs the 6 footer since you can just fold it back in a loop for more light and I used a 12 footer is sufficient for a 4-6 foot over cabinet space. Power consumption is about ½ watt per foot. The main negatives are that the wire from the rope to the transformer, while electrically sufficient, is quite thin so be careful. While the plastic rope is greatly preferred over the plastic strips, it can retain it's "coiled" memory and requires hold down clips to hold in a straight line. Unlike others, the clips were not included (at least they weren't in my box). If you are careful, you can relax the rope by using a hair dryer but best to several heat and cool cycles. Recommended and will buy again.

Maybe these are all the same? If so, go cheap....
This is an exact replacement for a rope light that we bought several years ago to illuminate the back steps. It gives a warm yellow glow, not bright glare. The length of the lighted part is six feet (6'), and the cord is 5' 4", so you don't need an outlet super close. The new string *exactly* matches the old one, tubing, cord, plug, everything. The only difference is the old one is kind of dirty now.I had thought the new string is LED, but the packaging actually says nothing about that. The color of the light seems like it's incandescent. The claimed 30,000 hour life makes me think LED, and translates to almost 3.5 years if you left in on full time. The old strand was only on 8 hours a night, so I'd have expected more like 10 years life. It didn't make it that long, but it probably met or exceeded the 3.5 years.Since this string is an exact duplicate of the old one, it's almost like there's just one factory churning these out, and the only difference is the printing on the box they come in. I probably could have saved a few bucks, since there are similar "incandescent" strings for around $10 on Amazon. We'll just hope the new holds up as long as the old one, so the difference will be only a few cents a year.I may dissect the old string to see whether it's LEDs or tiny bulbs. At first, half the string was out. Then, when I removed it for inspection, the entire string would no longer light. That seems a lot like miniature Christmas lights, so I'm guessing it's tiny tungsten bulbs, thank you Thomas Edison.

The Little Things
I use little lights like this to add ambience to as well as illuminate my home media studio. I was using regular xmas lights and had the string go out on me, so I decided to give these a try. Love how they ship with their own custom sized clips for mounting, it's going to look a lot better than hanging from nails like the previous lights. The heavy duty protective tubing is a plus, I'll be able to hang stuff from that as well later if I like..... though when you first open it, it is tightly coiled and needs to be untangled, like I said heavy duty, you have to really work it straight so it doesn't coil up on you when installing. The scored/capped end makes it so you can easily add continuation to the tube, which I'll most likely be doing. A great decorative addition to my eccentric setup here, as well as a quality package. Serious lighting, suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

A comfy, soft golden glow. Dimmable with a separate lamp dimmer.
For a warm, golden glow, these Good Earth rope lights work wonders. With this product, you're looking at a gentle, accent-style lighting with the soft yellow of good, old fashioned lights. It's definitely not strong accent or task lighting. It is the perfect solution for a subtle, light string. While some reviews and comment suggest these do not work on a dimmer, they do! I use them with a lamp dimmer and they work great. But follow safety instructions, don't take my word for it.The rope lights do warm gently after being on a few minutes, but not much. A touch test more than 6 hours into use reveals very little warmth. As with all of my reviews, I am writing this after purchasing, trying and comparing this product over time with similar items. I hope you find it helpful.

Great product. Exactly what I needed!
I bought these rope lights to run around the railing on my deck for ambient lighting at night. They worked great right out of the box, and I haven't had any problems with them in the two weeks that I have been using them so far. One nice thing about this set is that it about 3/8" in diameter, which is a little bit thinner than most other rope lights. This give them a slightly lower profile and makes them less noticeable when they aren't turned on.My only complaint might be that the screws included with the mounting hardware are a bit weak. I managed to shear the heads off of about 6 of them while trying to mount them in the hardwood railings. If you don't mind picking up $1.00 worth of screws at your hardware store, then this a great set.
