Exclusively Pumping Breast Milk: A Guide to Providing Expressed Breast Milk for Your Baby

Good but very wordy
The idea of this book is great. It's very reassuring that there are many other women exclusively pumping. Before finding this book, I felt very alone in this circumstance. The writing, however, is wordy and roundabout. It's difficult to read at times. As a book designer, I do appreciate that the book is very well designed, inside and out.

Loved it!
This book was very informative & straight to the point. I have been trying to decide between breastfeeding or pumping only & after reading this & getting more information & knowledge on it I have made my decision. Without reading this it would have been harder for me to decide so I'm glad I took the time to read it & really think about how my decision would affect me mentally & not just myself but my family as well. I would recommend this book to any Mom who wants to know more about exclusively pumping or even pumping in general or they need help deciding which route to go. After reading this I felt so much more comfortable with my decision!

Awesome guide
This is a comprehensive guide for pumpers ! Wow, so glad to discover something like this existed. I am following all of the recommendations and producing a lot. She goes over everything you may need to know. She gives you resources and support. She covers increasing and decreasing supply, weaning, how to entertain baby while pumping, power pumping, diet, pump settings, emotional support and so much more. So grateful I found this. Didn’t expect my BF journey to end in less than 48 hrs so I was scrambling to read this. If you are too, shoot for 8 15 minute pumps every day while you have a newborn and until you can cover the material in more detail. Ideally they say pump every 2 hours but I found this to be impossible while caring for my baby. The author approves 8 15 minute sessions- shoot for 2 hrs on the pump total daily and empty often just like your baby would. This schedule is only temporary- she gives you everything you need to pump long term. Good luck.

Exclusively pumping
Pretty good read. Told me a lot of what I knew already as this baby is the 2nd one I've EP'd for but the info in the book could be very helpful to a first time mom in this situation. Overall it was helpful and informative.

Very informative
Great book if you are trying to exclusively pump. It gives helpful sources, and support systems to keep at this challenging task of pumping. Also it is great that the book is written by someone that was forced to pump exclusively due to baby health issues. This book also teaches great methods for establishing and maintaining a healthy milk supply even if you do not exclusively pump. Great support system for new and tenured mothers. Definitely recommend to anyone that breastfeeds.

Great Read
This was an amazing read as a mom who was trying to navigate a baby not latching and trying to understand what in the world EP'ing was. This provided helpful feedback and information to help guide me through my decision on whether to EP or formula feed. So thankful I found this book!

a little redundant but great info
Great info on how to start and continue exclusively pumping. Author needs to address than some women choose to pump exclusively even when they can breast feed. Also, much of the info is repeated multiple times. The book could be shorter if it wasn't so redundant. But overall good info to start and maintain exclusively pumping. It should e available in the hospital for new mommies.

Good information
I had to pump exclusively for only 3 months, but even so this book was a huge help. Just knowing that I was't the only one with latch problems who still wanted to make sure my baby had exclusive breast milk was a load off my mind. That being said, a google search will uncover a lot of the information disclosed in this book. If you want a one stop reference this is a good option.

really useful and supportive
I bought this book when I realised I wasn't going to be able to breastfeed my daughter who was severely tongue tied. I found it enormously useful to be told that exclusively pumping was a possibility, and to be proud of it rather than feeling a failure at breastfeeding. My daughter is now 3 months old and getting about 95% of her milk from me, with only the occasional formula top up when she's particularly hungry. I don't think I would have been able to go on for this long without the support I received from this book.If this is a route you are deciding to take my advice would be to go for it, but not to beat yourself up if you can't manage to pump 8 times a day or meet 100% of your baby's needs. Since week 2 I've only been able to pump 5 times a day but it has worked out fine. My other advice is to get a pumping bra so you can do it hands free - makes a big difference to be able to change / feed if not quite cuddle the baby while pumping.V good luck to you if you're embarking on this journey. It's not always easy, and it's taken me a while to feel comfortable pumping in a room of breast feeding mothers, but it's rewarding, saves money, more convenient than formula which goes off after 2 hours (especially useful for a baby who likes snacking at night) and is worth a try to see if it's manageable for you.

Fantastic book to get you started on your EP'NG journey
I cannot recommend this book enough. If you are considering expressing breastmilk for your baby then this is a must read. It helped me get started and sustain from 4dpp a good supply for my baby. If you're unable or unwilling to nurse but still want your baby to have your breastmilk this book will give you all the encouragement and knowledge to make it happen. It IS possible and I just wish I had known about this book and in general this option with my first.
