Jade Mirror: Women Poets of China Paperback – November 5, 2013

Michael Farman, the editor (and one of the translators), has done a sterling job of gathering this well-selected assortment of fine translations of various female Chinese poets stretching across two and a half millennia. It isn't attempting to challenge comparison with those splendidly scholarly doorstoppers, 'Women Writers of Traditional China', or 'The Red Brush'; here, quality is substituted for quantity. There is undiluted pleasure on nearly every page (and plenty of detailed biographical information on the others). Highly recommended.
