This has been a good addition to our library to introduce our 3 year old daughter to Chinese characters. I like that each page revolves around a theme (school, bathroom, zoo, birthday, space, beach, etc) and contains 20-30 words you can learn related to the theme. Select pages have songs (jingle bells, happy birthday) which has been a big hit. I was pleasantly surprised that some of the pages even have questions and games to help reinforce your knowledge. The two books, pen, and packaging are high quality. I can’t say my kid has learned any of the Chinese characters, but she does enjoy pointing the pen around.The caveats:- it’s in traditional Chinese- it uses Zhuyin (bo po mo fo) rather than pinyin- the songs are only in English- the instructions are written in Chinese- there’s no internal battery, so if you use usb, it has to remain plugged in. (Or you can go cordless with battery).If you can live with the caveats listed above, you will be happy with this set.

This book is terrific! It’s easy to use and the book responds to the own well! We have other “touch” products that don’t work as well. The books have a ton of vocabulary in them and i didn’t realize how many pages the books have! I love that there are 2 levels-one is more simplistic and appropriate for a younger child. The second is perfect for older kids! The pen “speaks” clearly as well. We are very pleased with this product! Definitely worth the investment!The only concern I have is that for the prices, I would like to be able to buy a replacement pen if needed or have a wya to contact customer service but it doesn’t seem to be an option in the USA.

Just what I wanted to start learning a few words in Chinese. You can choose whether you want to hear the English or Chinese word. It seems like it’s more geared to Chinese children wanting to learn English, but my kids are loving it and we’re learning a lot too!

Good quality product. Problem is that nowhere in the description did it disclose that the characters were traditional rather than simplified.

daughter loves it ad so do we. it can speaks both chinese and english. it plays words, music, and songs. i wish they make more of these. i got the first book in taiwan and have not been able to find more books like these.

This product is going to be a Christmas gift for my grandsonwho is autistic. My daughter suggested it because he has shownan interest in the Chinese language. I will give it 5 stars untilhe actually uses it.

Recommend for all parents teaching English/Chinese.
