Horrible packaging
Why in the world did they change the packaging!! Got the bag version this time and the long stick jerky was all broke up into pieces. I divide this evenly between dogs and can't with them broken into all sizes and crumbs. Please go back to the plastic jars๐

My dog loves these.
Easy to break into smaller pieces. Carries well in pocket or pouch. I've had some dogs that don't like freeze dried liver, but all dogs love these.

Our dog, Sadie, loves them.I cut them on the strips and then cut them about a 1/4" in size. I use them for training treats.

Good dog treats and good price!
What I liked about these treats are they are relatively cheap for the amount that you get. My dogs seemed to love them and digest them just fine. I like how you can customize them. For example, if you feel like your dog was deserves and extra large treat, you can break the stick/bar in half and give them half or the whole thing!. What I liked and preferred was because these are soft treats and easy to break apart, I would break each stick down to very small pieces (the size of a piece of dog kibble) and use them as training treats, that way this tub of treats lasted me extra long. BUT I can still choose to break them into larger pieces if I wanted or needed. 4 stars was because of price. Costco also sells dogs treats like this in a tub and I get those on sale and stock up as they are a better value overall. But other than that, these are great and customizable!

Gobbles it right down.
Wow, did Sven gobble this down and come looking for more! Nice packagingbut after reading the title all else was very difficult to read, as usual. I hope they live up to their brags.Tip: the top to the "jar" is a little tricky to open for me but Sven snuck around and managed to get the top off by pouncing on the jar. I call him Tigger and pouncing is something Tiggers do - bounce and pounce. Sven scarfed about half of a container down at one time. He then drank half of a large bowl of water. Lotta salt?It takes quite awhile to assess a product that is for an animal. But just the fact that he knew it must be something really good tells me it is. He kept sniffing it and then eating it right down. That is his testament. But knowing if it is good for him is yet to be seen.

UPDATE: Dogs don't love it, it smells and looks different.
Initially purchased August 2016: Was 4 stars. Both my dogs like this treat. It's easy to tear off small pieces for training and the price is great. It reassures me that it's made in USA, grain free. It's not a low-calorie treat but by easily cutting it down to small pieces, it makes it a great deal and great size for my dogs. It's soft too so they don't have to take a lot of time to chew it and can get back to training. (For chewing treats for their teeth, I use Greenies, CET enzymatic toothpaste every 2-3 days and Nylabone treats.)They love it. As soon as I open the treat jar, they come rushing. I've used Ziwi Peak, Orijen bison treats, Zuke's Minis but these are convenient, healthy and affordable. Great value.UPDATE Oct 2016: Now 2 stars. My boyfriend bought another one after the one I bought in August was used up. This second batch is a lighter "fake" color (not brown but maybe tan), it doesn't look like it's jerky but more like cornstarch and flour-y: it's a grain-free jerky?!. I understand that there may be variations in the production process but this is way too different in consistency to be chalked up to that. It's like a different product. My dog doesn't like it and will ignore them, whereas the first batch, she loved every piece. It also smells different. While before it smelled like something humans could try, like real jerky, this smells rancid. Unfortunately, as a 'grocery product' it is not eligible for returns. I guess I'm now going to have to find another treat that is a good value. I might just end up buying treats at my local pet store again...more expensive but if it's not fresh, at least they accept returns.

My Dog Loves It
I bought this for my dog in spring of 2016, and when I came back to reorder I read a lot of negative reviews about mold and discoloration. As I trust Amazon itself to make good on any product that isn't right, I decided to go ahead with the order as so many of the other similar products seemed inappropriately expensive considering the ingredients and volume. Happily, it came in just as a remember it. Since there was such a fuss about the problems they apparently had, I decided to try a bit of it myself. It reminds me a little bit of the beef paste bouillon jarred product although certainly not as strong a beef taste. My dog is spoiled rotten and would not eat anything he didn't like--for example he's decided against the green dental treats. He looks forward to this, so that's good enough for me. I noticed there was a desiccant pack in this container which I don't remember being in the last I bought, so I would guess previously there was too much moisture in the content that may have caused spoilage.
