Great reciprocating saw...typical high quality DeWalt product..
I love this recip saw.Small, powerful and well-balanced. Can get into tight spaces. I have been using this saw for about a month and this tool delivers the quality that I have come to expect from all my DeWalt tools.I am not having any "vibration issues" whatsoever...but I use recip saws almost daily and know how to handle the cutting action. You have to have the right blade position, right type and length of blade, start slow, let the cut develop, etc. You can't just lay the blade ( especially the longer ones ) where you want to cut and start blasting wide open throttle at the cut. That's not how any recip saw works...also keep in mind that this saw doesn't offer an elliptical cut...just back and forth. If you don't know how to use this ( or any other ) reciprocating saw properly of course you will vibrate the heck out of what you are cutting. Use the proper length and type of blade, start somewhat slow, let the cut develop, etc and you will get good results.I rate this saw a solid 5 stars.

Weight/ Power ration quite respectable, especially at such a reasonable price point
Impressed! Having come from the Milwaukee line (and ridgid, etc.) I was surprised at the weight/ power ratio. I'm full time remodeling and other than question about longevity/ reliability (even the Milwaukee only last 3 or so years) it's so far proving quite respectable! One correction: some pictures and videos show flush cutting when in fact there's an appr. 1/2" offset for a true flush cut, so don't expect that w/o using a longer blade and the associated caveats (blade wandering, potential for binding, etc.) The one feature that would improve this even more is a rafter hook!

Great saw with cord
This is a very good recip saw. I already have a DeWalt cordless recip saw and read that a corded one would give me more power, that I could zip through same wood faster. But it did not. I tried this one time with a brand new blade I bought separately. It was no faster than my cordless/rechargeable DeWalt recip. I returned it for a refund. If you don't mind the cord, don't want to purchase multiple battery packs and want to keep going without stopping to charge, this is an EXCELLENT recip saw. It's good quality and it's not extra heavy. For me, my DeWalt recip saw is one of my most often used tools. It works for small to medium cutting jobs and is much safer than a chainsaw. I use it for branches, small tree trunks, and other projects around the house. I also feel it's safer to use a cordless saw where there is no worry of accidentally cutting into the cord.

Great saw
This is an excellent tool! If you have serious work to do,buy this saw, as opposed to a battery powered one. Blade changes are very simple and the saw gives multiple angles to work from. I've sawed apart old iron wagon chassis, 12 tires and rims to remove the tires from the wheels, you name it, this saw will do it. Just don't buy the DeWalt blades. Buy a Lennox blade that's made from much stronger metal.

Great investment for DIY demo
I'm a DIY home owner. Not a contractor. I've owned several reciprocating saws for demo jobs on my 90-year-old home. My last saw was a very low-end model with an unrecognized brand name. It died and I found this Dewalt model as open-box at the Amazon Warehouse. Looks kinda weird with the angled-motor but it sure helps get into tight spaces. And the 4-way blade is a game changer. SERIOUSLY! You can cut forward, backward, left or right with a quick blade change. Way more cutting power than anything I previously owned. Highly recommend this model.

Variable speed failed, cord length substandard
Within 6 months, variable speed no longer works, it's 3000 strokes per minute or nothing. This alone makes it difficult to use accurately. Subtracted on versatility because the cord is 24" shorter that other reciprocating saws I've owned. Will likely go back to my previous brand (orange/red in color) as it functioned perfectly for 21 years.
