PangeaMagnetic Gecko Ledge (Acrylic) Large for Reptile Terrarium Habitat

This is a nice product, and really well made- so while the price may seem steep, it really is worth it. That being said I have two issues with this ledge: size and design. First off, it's a big ledge (hence "Large" in the description) if you have a baby or juvie gecko, you'll probably end up wanting something smaller (I bought a smaller rock-like feeding ledge but kept this one for the future). Second, the design- it's a clear ledge, so it doesn't take up much visual "space" but I felt like my gecko (who is still pretty small) didn't like to use this as much as her new, smaller rock ledge. I'm not sure if she can see the fake rock better or felt more secure, but she seems to be eating better with the fake rock one. That being said, I also don't care for the two-cup holder design. Our crested gecko doesn't need a water dish, we mist her tank at least twice a day and she licks the droplets from her skin or leaves in the tank. Also, the cups are pretty big, which is probably perfect for an adult or if you have more than one in a terrarium, but again, I felt like the big cup size made it harder for her to get to her food, or I'd make too much and end up wasting a lot (and gecko food isn't cheap!).I'm not trying to sound like a scrooge, and I do think I'll end up using this ledge when AppleJack is older; however, I feel like, at least for her, the smaller fake rock feeding ledge we bought suits her needs better.

I'm giving this 4 stars due to one con, which IMHO some super glue just might do the trick.Pros:These are the large cups and a perfect size for sub adult crested geckos or other lizards of similar size. Cups can be re-used or trash and replace.Cons:Outer magnets popped out of the holder after a few uses. The outer holder is just a cap with a spacer and a magnet and then sealed up around the edges. Since, the magnetic wasn't molded into the exterior cap I would expect the same results unless they change the manufacturing process. I'm going to try super gluing the magnetic straight to the cap without the bottle cap foam sealer or plastic spacer. If the super glue doesn't work then I'll used some JB Weld which should hold up much better.

I bought this for my adult crested gecko in a Nat Geo glass reptile sanctuary. While this product did not list max weight supported the picture shows an adult crested so I assumed the "super strong" rare earth magnets would hold for my adult 40g crestie. I was wrong. He got towards the outer ledge and it dumped him unceremoniously on the ground. Fortunately for me I have a juvenile crestie in an exo-terra glass habitat that only weighs in at about 10g. It has worked well for him. Ultimately, I was not happy with the product for the money I spent, but am happy enough that I don't want to go through the process of returning it. I was going to try the more expensive one that stated how many adult geckos it could hold, but with the results from this one, I will probably look elsewhere for a solution.

This works very well for my baby Gecko. It came with extra cups but is super easy to clean so I reuse the cups several times. The magnets are super strong to the point that it’s a bit of a challenge to remove them. There is no way it’s going to fall off. I was afraid it would look cheap being acrylic but it absolutely isn’t. I would caution if the tank is glass to have a good grip on the magnets putting them on so they don’t jump together and crack anything. I would buy this again. Highly recommend.

If you want something that will actually function as a ledge, without suddenly detaching itself from your vivarium wall, try magnetic ledges like this one. I have several for my crested and mourning geckos. They stick! They stay!Be careful with the magnets, as they are suprisingly strong, and may leap out of your hands and smack into the glass, eager as they are to perform their magnetic duties.The geckos tend to splatter the ledges with CGD and...um...used CGD, but the acrylic is quite easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth.

One of the magnets came out when I opened it but I just put some glue in it and all fixed I'd buy again

I gave four stars because he’s now too big for it, which sucks I didn’t know crested geckos got as big as he is. But when he was littler it worked perfectly for him, I’ve never had it fall in the 2 years I’ve had him and it’s super easy to clean.

Item is nice and as advertised easy to clean but said it came with 20 replacement cups and they did not come with it

I did not read the info and I do not have the dishes that go with it :( so it is under my sink! well that was well spent $$$$
