Mine For Tonight (The Billionaire's Obsession, Book 1)

As a romance author, I am always trying to learn from other writers as I feel I have such a long way to go. I thoroughly enjoyed this story although like many of the other reviewers, I did not enjoy the cliffhanger ending. I believe in finishing the story and then if the characters have more story to tell, something that begins in another place of their relationship, then that should be a whole new separate story. Having said that, I enjoyed getting to know these two characters. They had unbelievable heat between them and the sex scenes between them were very well written. Both characters are flawed and well-rounded and I would have loved to have gotten to know them better. I found it fascinating that Kara was going through so much and had lost her parents. Still also reeling from a past relationship that left her in a bad place, I would have enjoyed reading more of her back story. I appreciate a female character who faces great adversity and manages to keep her head above water. Kara has so much more to offer. Simon is also complex and while it is obvious that he cares deeply for her, he has some issues of his own to deal with. Maybe some explaining will come in later stories. I don't know as I have not read them yet. I think the author should have touched on these complexities of this character in this story. It's almost a little too "50 Shades" to me. Why is he so controlling? What are these issues of his? These questions will keep me reading the next stories to hopefully find out the answers. It's not easy to sit down and write a book so kudos to the author for a steamy, fascinating read. Aside from the cliffhanger and the holes in the characters backstory and complexities, I thought it was a wonderful story and I found myself cheering for Kara and Simon.

I liked this book! It wasnt too long, wasnt too short, incredibly descriptive and altogether HOT HOT HOT! The author does a great job with the sex scenes. I love books with alpha males (that arent tacky, that is). I have a hard time finding ones that I enjoy since I read FSOG, which was the beginning of my erotica journey, but this one doesnt make me think all Fifty. Ive read one book thats a spitting downgrade of FSOG and i WASNT impressed- this book is nothing of the sorts. I was not able to predict the things that happened next, which was great (predictability being my biggest pet peeve), the characters are strong, beautiful, funny, and charasmatic- to name a few. I am currently about 35% of the way through the next book in the Billionaires Obsession series and am enjoying it as well. Simon is so sexy, smart, and altogether joyful- who couldnt love him? I loathe to be Kara, LOL. It wasnt my absolute favorite. Strings and Beats by Kendall Grey still stand high at the top, as well as the FSOG series but I think thia definitely deserves its 4 stars

This was a free download from Amazon and My heart was racing through this story. Kara Foster is a nursing student by day and a waitress by night working 80 hours a week. She works for Simon Hudson's mom Helen Hudson. After her parents died it has been a struggle but she was nearing her last four months of nursing school. She and Helen were friends and when Simon asked his mother about her she was concerned why. What was his intentions toward her. Simon was infatuated with her for some reason and had been for over a year, following her home many nights staying out of her sight. She was walking home from the restaurant on night and got dizzy almost falling down. Simon was watching her as usual and stepped in to help her. He took her to his condo and called a doctor who determined that she was not over her virus and needed food and rest. Simon made her stay in his guest room and had his assistant go to her apartment to get her some clothes. What she didn't know was that her room mate was evicted and she had taken every thing the Kara owned. She couldn't believe it when Simon told her and broke down. Simon a very handsome billionaire who was a computer genius developing many computer games. He had deep feelings for Kara at least he wanted her one time. And as she cried he comforted her and told her she could stay there and that he would help her but she had to quit working. Here she was in financial ruin with no place to stay and all her clothes and furniture gone. He said he wanted to help. She couldn't understand why but she sort of was stuck. Either stay with him or be homeless and drop her last four months of nurses training. She chose to stay. All she had on was his robe which he said looked better on her than it ever did on him. While in the kitchen he started kissing her and gave her the best orgasm she had ever had just using his fingers. He told her she was so beautiful and wanted one night with her in his bed but that his help wasn't contingent on that. He told her he wanted total surrender for one night. She thought about it not knowing what total surrender meant. He bought her a total new wardrobe, i pad, laptop, you name it he spent so much money on her and even put money in her bank account. She began cooking for him and one night she went to see him in his computer lab. They began talking and he let her play his newest game. Then she remembered why she went up to ask him what he wanted for dinner. He said he would join her help fix it. They did and after they ate he said he had something for her and she said no more she wouldn't take it. Then he handed her her mothers ring that her roommate had pawned. She was so grateful to him. And she sat on his lap and they began kissing. Finally she said she would take him up on his one night with her. He could not believe it. He took her to his bed and gave her one glorious night of pleasure. She felt it was a life changing experience but didn't say anything. He then carried her to her room and put her in her bed thanking her for the one night. She felt miserable . Didn't he want her anymore. End of book 1. My heart was racing so fast it hurt. I cried with Kara. Because I always insert my self in the stories and I feel what they feel. And in this case I felt what Kara felt. This is not a story for anyone under 18. It is an adult story with steamy sex scenes and will make your heart race. Great story, I loved it.

Not a bad "filler book." This is perfect if you need a mindless short read ... maybe while waiting for another book to come in from the library or running errands like an oil change or doctor's appointment. This story seems to be along the lines of Fifty Shades ... a billionaire with a tortured soul and a girl who doesn't realize she is beautiful and desirable. This type of story line seems to be the new fad, but getting a little old for me. I'm glad this was a super short story and the sequel is equally as short and already out to read.

What a hidden gem this was! Having purchased the book way back in June I believe last year was I pleasantly surprised when I decided to finally take a peak. The peak became an addiction with a big, demanding, alpha sexy male and a sweet innocent independent female. Simon & Kara were made for the other being from completely and utterly different backgrounds they were able to bring out the best in the other. Both characters were well developed and absolutely loveable with the story not being your typical rich man/poor girl scenario. In brief Simon is a multi-billionaire obsessed by Kara from afar who is struggling to make ends meet. Having lived through so much Kara is all the stronger for it with Simon’s own demons making for a more compassionate caring guy. With their timely meeting Simon “rescues” Kara and takes her home where he propositions her with what I think was the sexist I have come across. It is passionate and from the heart rather than sleazy and arrogant. The title kind of gives it away but what a great beginning to a series I just came across. Loved both characters, with each seeing beyond the superficial and deep into each other’s soul. I have purchased the box set, which I say thank God it was in existence and the only good reason for me to not have read it sooner as now I can finish it as a book and not get cravings in-between.

Please note this review may contain spoilers. Mine For Tonight is book 1 in J. S. Scott's The Billionaire's Obsession series and introduces us to Simon Hudson and Kara Foster. Simon runs a multi-billion dollar company with his older brother Sam. Despite being rich and handsome, he basically lives the life of a hermit after experiencing a life threatening event at the age of 16. An event that left him with scars (physical and mental) and trust issues when it comes to sex. Enter Kara, a woman who is constantly drawing the short straw in life and is about to hit rock bottom. Simon comes to her rescue (literally), offering her a place to stay and all the money she could need. All Simon wishes for in return? Kara. In his bed. One night. Anything he wants, anything he needs. HOT! HOT! HOT! This is a very quick read and ends with Kara giving Simon all he desires and leaving her determined to help him resolve the trust issues that have been haunting him for half his life. While this does not really end in a cliffhanger per se, it is not a stand-alone book. My only issue with this book (and it's an issue I have when it appears in any book) is when Simon and Kara have sex for the first time, without a condom. He says he's clean. She says she's clean. And they take each other's word for it. You can still have a scorching hot sex scene with the guy wearing a condom.

I got this book shortly after I got my kindle because it was free. Starting this book I knew nothing about the author. I had never read any of her books and I had never heard of her either. Man, was I missing out. I LOVE The Billionaire's Obsession. "Mine For Tonight" is one short story out of four about Kara and Simon. The point of views change so you get to see what both Kara and Simon fell and what they are going through. (I love books with both POV's). Reading it I wondered why he did things his way but as you continue through books 2-4 you will understand completely. After I finished "Mine for Tonight" I immediately bought the box set for only 99 pennies and it was worth that and much, much more. If you can't get your fill of Kara and Simon they will be in the other books that J.S. Scott wrote in The Billionaire's Series. Every friend that I have told to try it has loved it and got every other book in the series. Just remember, it's free so if for some odd reason you don't like it you aren't out any money and it's a short read so you won't feel like you wasted your time. BUT, I promise you will love it and if you don't, you obviously aren't into romance books and you need to check your pulse.

Mine for Tonight: A Billionaires Obsession is written by J.S Scott. This is book one in the series. Simon Hudson is a computer nerd who write programs for computer games. He is a recluse but he has seen Kara Foster at his Mother’s diner and also as she goes to and from work. He wants her. Kara Foster is working her tail off trying to finish school and live at the same time. She is perpetually short on funds; but manages to make sure her room rent is given to her roommate every month. At least she has a place to lay her head. Today has been a really rough one. She spilt coffee on her clothes and did not have any to change into nor could go home prior to being at work. She borrowed clothes from her roommate, Lisa, who always carried a change of clothes in her car. If it hadn’t been for not being able to go home, Kara would never have borrowed these clothes. She felt and looked like a hooker in this getup. At least her apron helped at work. Nothing helped now. Just as she nears her doorway, her luck gives out.

I have given this a 5 star rating from page one it keeps you interested and pulls you into the story of Simon and Kara. Simon is a billionaire computer geek who is totally infatuated with Kara who works as a waitress in his mother's restaurant.Simon has obsessed over Kara for a year watching her from affair.one particular evening Simon follows Kara home unexpectedly she feels faint and dizzy so simon comes to the rescue.He insists that she stays with him at his condo. Simon insists that she must give her job up at the restaurant and concentrate on her nursing.Simon informed Kara that her flat mate has done a runner and she has not been paying the bills so you have been evicted and she's took everything cleared you out. Kara excerpts Simon offer to stay there for four month in return he wants one night with Kara.Simon showers her with gifts expensive clothes even puts money in her bank account.There is a lot of sexual tension between after one week of being together and the incident in the kitchen .Simon finally gets his one night he likes to dominate and have total control over Kara.After the hot steaming sex he carries Kara to her bed and leaves her there on her own. There's something very intriguing about simon and those scars why does he not want Kara to see them.what's his story with the opposite sex I'm eager to find out what's going to happen between them .I absolutely enjoyed read this book I was disappointed at the end because I want to read more.love it can't wait to get my hands on the other two.

wow! what can I say? This book was fantastic, I highly recommend it to every one. Great story writer. I look forward to reading all her books.

Although they met under weird circumstances, and he's been silently watching over her I'm glad he's not a bad guy or she'd be worse off. They have such great chemistry and affection already. Cannot wait to see where this goes.
