Dee Zee DZ79 Brite-Tread Aluminum Topsider Tool Box

This is a pretty standard aluminum box, just a lot larger. They seal up well and don't leak. The welds are a little off, the box isn't perfectly square but it's only noticeable when you have another set of boxes stacked on top of them like I do. The rivets on the hinges seem a little lacking and I'll be keeping an eye on them, I may have to add a few or put larger ones in their place.

This is the second toolbox I have ordered. The first one came with a big dent but it was inside the bed and ladder rack covers most of it. The second I noticed had a few dents as well. Well after installed I noticed more dents. The dents were from the inside and I remembered the installation hardware was loose and not secured inside the toolbox. So when the tool box was being transported the hardware was beating up the inside leaving multiple dents. The latches need constant adjusting even though a lock washer is present. If you do not keep them tight the doors will fall open while driving.The chains that hold the doors have all broke within a few months.On the exterior of the doors you can see where supports were welded. I thought it was more dents at first.You get what you pay for and it is hard to find boxes this size. Next truck I will most likely look for a different brand.ThanksJon - IL

Very simple boxes, lots of space. The only downsides I found are that the weather striping is cheap will most likely have to be replaced, also the chains that hold up the doors were all different lengths and make a lot of noise when driving.(very easy fix. just adjust and and put in rubber tubing to quite down). All and all very pleased!

This is the second one I've bought. Best deal out there.

The first was damaged so I sent it back. The second one had 1 door with only 3 of 8 rivets holding it on. I replaced the rivets snd the product is working fine now.

It asked me for the specks on my truck I gave them and when I got here It was 2 ft short I was needing a tool box didn't have time to ship it back and get the right one so I made this one work.
