When you pull down the handle the can is crushed and then falls through a hole in the bottom. When you lift the handle up the next can falls into place for you to smash it. How easy is that? Plus this thing is made of seriously tough steel for long life. Being steel it holds up well to cold. It weighs almost 6 pounds! It mounts easily with screws and can be hung in or outside. We keep a lined trashcan under ours to easily catch the cans. Almost mess free. You can even pay for this can crusher with the recycled aluminum cans.
