Goya Dry Black Beans, 28 Ounce (Pack of 2)

I love black bean soup and this brand is the best. Our local store was sold out (in fact of almost all Goya products), so was glad to find them here on Amazon. Arrived promptly and well packed in perfect condition. My favorite way to prepare is to puree the soup in the blender after cooking (makes sort of a bisque) and then add a splash of sherry wine and a dab of sour cream before serving. Delicious, like eating gourmet food on a bean budget.

I needed black beans during the pandemic and these fit the bill. The price was a bit steep, but supply and demand can do that ... Black beans are a family favorite and even at inflated prices it's still a cheap meal.I normally don't buy this brand because even during normal times they are fairly expensive for what you get. That said, the quality is certainly very good, so I can't complain about that.

Love these beans after we discovered them on Amazon. We cook them direct from bag, dry, in an Instapot for 35 minutes with 3-4 cups of water covering the entire bag of beans. They come out nice and tender and not mushy. No reason to soak them when you use the Instapot. Will buy more soon.

You cannot go wrong with this. Makes excellent black bean soup. Soak beans overnight and use plenty of chicken stock when you cook beans. Use Goya Ham flavor seasoning, which I also reviewed.

Go Goya! Great beans from great people and great company that gives millions of dollars worth of food to hungry people. Not sure how anyone could not like the black beans. I'll keep buying Goya!

Goya is a good quality bean. Often when you purchase beans, especially in bulk, you have to pick out bad beans or other “surprise additions”. These were all beans and great quality.
