Will that be a good diffuser for a LED matrix panel?

If your intent is to edge-light the acrylic with an LED bar to enhance an engraving then, yes, this will work.

I'm verifing this is pmma, and not polycarbonate or PET/acrylic? So many post their sheets as acrylic when it's not.

PMMA is another name for acrylic. This product is acrylic, cast acrylic to be specific. We sell genuine products so you can buy with confidence. Polycarbonate and PETG are different from acrylic. PET is type 1 plastic.
