It looks just like the photo; however, when I was ordering it, I thought the black chevron pattern was alternating with white. In person, it appears much more grey/silver. I like the grey - I was just surprised because it looks so white on my computer monitor. I have a black plate frame I was hoping to use with it but, even though it is narrow, it blocks the top and bottom of the frame around the name. I hate that I can't use it, but I'm sure it will look just fine without a frame. I don't love to have unused holes showing but that's just the way I'm wired. I'll learn to live with it. :) As far as quality, it appears to be quite strong. It was shipped quickly in a heavy, almost un-bendable envelope; however my mail carrier, not wanting to deliver it to the door, was indeed able to bend it. Luckily, the envelope bent at the plate edge so having it shoved into my mailbox did not damage it. (Three cheers for our awesome postal workers! No really, their job has to stink!) I opted to have my nickname monogrammed on it, which turned out great! Although it's not installed yet, I think this will look super cute on my 2002 VW Beetle!
