Very Impressed
I just picked up an electric resin burner. It is great but it showed me that my old resin is trash. It would just turn black and not melt fully like the sample resin. This resin is opaque. It has almost a dusty look to it. But if you break open the clusters, the inside is clear. The scent is great and long lasting. The value is also great. It will take me while to work through a pound of this resin but when I do, I will definitely buy some again.

Large quantity, acceptable quality.
I ordered several different resins from this manufacturer.Stay away from the Dragons Blood and Benzoin. They use some kind of binder to fluff out the weight. A silver dollar sized chunk burned less than 30 seconds and smoked for about 3 minutes.Chemical smell, especially off the Dragons Blood which smells nothing like the real thing and more like a strong, cheap perfume. The Copal and Frankincense were fine.

Tiny Pieces... Smell Is Merely Okay...
Hmmm..... I bought this because I have purchased the Govinda Frankincense and Myrrh for years. Never had a problem with it. But I wanted to do some loose incense blends and decided I wanted pure Frankincense. I have a really good quality one from another seller that no longer sells it and thought I would get a Govinda bag because it is for basic everyday use. After seeing the reviews about the large chunks and great quality, not to mention my prior experience with Govinda's blend, I gave this a chance. Well I missed the draw for the great bags that so many raved about. LOL The Frankincense has no smell whatsoever. Now I know after 35 years of burning incense that you cannot judge a resin until you burn it but not even a hint of scent emitted from my bag. I could only smell the plastic they were encased in. There were no larger chunks at all. Trust me that it looks nothing like what is pictured on the Amazon page. The pieces are like mini paving gravel with a fair amount of dust in it. Some were so tiny that they fit over the letter 'I' on the Frankincense packaging. Nothing impressive.I use an electric heater... Smell is okay and not strong at all. I barely smell it across the room. Nothing special. I will not be singing 'Take Me Back To Church' after smelling this unlike my other brand. I wasn't expecting the smell of expensive Hojary but the scent was... meh. Frankincense is a natural product and a lot can cause variations in the smell including harvest time, temperature, location, type (sacra, carterii, serratta, papyrifera...) etc.Not saying that I would not buy this again but Govinda would not be my first choice. The next bag however may be incredible. But the bag I received was not outstanding. Good for basic daily burning or as a binder in mixes. At least the pieces are small enough that I won't have to fight to grind them up.March 22, 2018 - Editing to add that after several heatings of the resin from my bag of frankincense what little smell I get is like turpentine and plastic. Not pleasant at all.April 13, 2018 - Just posting this in case it helps anyone that gets a diesel-turpentine smelling variety. Don't throw it out! This can be a natural occurrence with the resin. If you have some essential oils and dried herbs-flowers you can make an incense.I measured out about an ounce of resin. Then I added a tsp of orris root powder (choose whatever dried flower you want like lavender, rose, etc.), 1 tsp of powdered Benzoin, 1/2 tsp anise powder (you can use cinnamon, nutmeg, etc), 6 drops of the cedarwood essential oil, 5 drops frankincense essential oil, 3 drops patchouli essential oil, and 2 drops jasmine essential oil. You can use whatever herbs, powdered resin and essential oils you want. Stir it well to coat the resin and place aside for a week or two stirring or shaking every now and then. The florals and herbs will cut the extreme smell of the bad resin and actually compliment it. Hopefully this can help some people if they get a bad batch to still be able to use their resin. Best of luck.

Is it real? Is it fake? Seems to have no smell...
I watched a video on YouTube about Frankincense grown in Oman and just had to have some...but after trying at several different heats (placed on the self-igniting charcoal it just smokes and makes me cough!) I can't seem to get and sort of 'insency' smell out of the 'tears'. Fake? I don't even know what it should smell like! That's not right is it? Not recommended.
