I discovered Terro ~5 years ago and no longer spray
I have lived in the same heavily wooded house for ~25 years. Being in MA the ants become active just before spring (early April) and start appearing in my house. In early years I routinely sprayed - mixing concentrates and spraying all summer long using a pump sprayer. It was effective but a lot of chemicals and a lot of reapplying. Then about 5 years ago I tried out Terro liguid ant bait and have been using ever since. I originally used Terro's little outdoor stakes but the past two times have used these larger baits. When setting them up I always use disposable gloves as there can be a little dripping. The bait comes in the cup that you press onto the base. Per the instructions you should then twist the cups. They include stakes to pin them down but I just set them around the foundation. I have had very good results - I generally still get some ants indoors but they generally are dead by the time I see them. Last year I recall only having maybe 10 active ants indoors in Spring and that was about it for the whole season. It is so much more economical using these Terro baits than sprays and my results have been very good. I also place a couple at the base of infested trees that the ants like to hollow out. I like that I am not constantly mixing chemicals anymore. I give these 5-stars and recommend.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST, SAFEST WAY TO RID ANTS FOR GOOD.
I cannot tell you how impressed, I am with terro outdoor liquid ant baits as well as the indoor ant bait traps. I've only found this particular product online to purchase, not in any hardware/regular stores around me. I tried the other outdoor liquid ant baits (from Lowe's) but they were not an adequate size for the type of war I had to place against these critters. These have kept my home under control without spraying any harmful other pesticides, to my amazement at the amount of ants we first saw when we moved into our new apartment. We were almost completely moved in and brought some boxes into the apartment, returned twelve hours later to continue to unpack and move more stuff into our new home and found hundreds of ants lining the wall; leading to a box that my husband accidentally left the rest of a muffin in that he didn't finish. We had stuff scattered everywhere and could not spray with the fear of it contaminating our dishes, clothing and other items, so I bought a bunch of the terro indoor products and smaller terro outside products at Lowe's and ordered these as well. We had so many ants that one indoor product was completely used in just 30 minutes, that's how bad it was and how amazing it is that those and the outdoor ones i'm reviewing have kept them at bay. I was afraid to leave food out initially to even cook but after a few weeks, I have calmed down because I haven't seen any since. I rave about this product to everyone because it has saved my sanity and my home. I've come back and bought more because it was that bad of an infestation but now we have extra that I share with my family and friends whenever I hear about any ant trouble. THANK YOU, TERRO!

Keeping them out of house for now.
Southern California. I was having a pretty severe problem controlling the ants in my house. It has been much worse than prior years.I put down several of these traps about a week ago. No ants in my house now which is huge with the exception of one bait trap on a beam in my garage. However, they are very actively feeding on the traps outside of my house. When the box originally came with these traps i put it in my garage on the workbench. The next morning when i came out it was covered in ants. I opened the box and found that some of the traps had leaked the liquid out. So the ants definitely love this stuff. I followed the trail in the garage and best i could tell they were coming from above on a beam but could not track it to outside of the house. So i placed a trap up on the beam. So now the ants are feeding on that and have been for about a week now. I placed these traps around the house in places where i thought there might be nests. I live on a canyon so i do not think i will ever kill them all. Rather, i just want them under control and not entering my house. My theory is that if you put them out on your landscaping away from the house, then the ants will go there. So far this seems to be the case. The major win here has been that no ants have shown up in my bathroom or kitchen now since i have been using them.10/6/20 Update. To be real, the objective is not to kill all the ants. It is impossible where i live. There are millions of them. Rather the objective is to keep them from coming into your house and move them away from your house. This product will help you do that. So what i am seeing is that over time as i figure out where they are coming from into my house and yard, i keep moving the baits further away from my house. This has been a totally effective strategy in keeping them from coming into my house and reduced the number of ants on my patio and immediately around the exterior of my house. I know from reports that there is a major explosion of the ant population in Southern Cal . You are not going to kill them all. It is all about control and management. So far, i really like this product. These ants love it. I have to say that i have never seen an invasion on this scale in the years i have lived here. At this point in the battle, i have moved the ants out of garage and so i have no ants invading my house. They are all out there in my yard feeding on the traps. I keep moving the traps out to the perimeter of my yard as i figure out where they are coming from. Killing the ants with pesticide is a losing battle . I see that my neighbor has professional pest control and that guy is going over there every couple of weeks. The ants keep coming back there. I think i am doing much better with these.

Product works well here in Florida on many types of ants
I use these all the time as my home is surrounded by many varieties of Ants. I put them near doors or any areas where I notice activity , You will see an increase in ant activity at first as they seem to be very attracted to the trap but many do not enter but in a day or so there will be no activity at all and I have found that I change them out about every 2 months. The ants just are not present in my home. My only warning is that the package is a little tough to open and the contents can easily spill during the process , in the same light put these in out of the way places or pick them up very carefully as not to spill when cleaning like vacuuming or sweeping as so not to knock into the units as they will leak and the liquid is very sticky and tough to clean. I really like this product works great.
