Works as it should.
Cheap, durable, worked perfect every time I used it! I definitely recommend if it's available.

Specialized tool that does its job
This is a specialized tool that does its job well. It appears plenty sturdy, and it worked perfectly every time. If you need a low-cost cable crimper, this will do it.

Works great. Takes a beating!
This is the 2nd one of these crimpers I've purchased. The last one, several years ago, did the job, but after a few battery cables made, maybe I was hitting it too hard, or too many times, it just broke apart. This one seems to be much more sturdy. You might be thinking I learned my lesson, and I'm not as harsh or bashing this crimper as hard.. but I don't think so. Previously, I used a regular hammer, and, maybe that's why I found myself striking it repeatedly to get the crimp I want? This time, I used an actual small sledge hammer.. and I'm giving it a much better strike. But, my OCD, I still feel the need to hit it again just to be sure. I feel this one is definitely taking a beating. I'm sure it's probably Made in China also, but maybe the Lincoln Electric has a higher quality standard than the no-name MIC one I got before. Works well, and still intact.

User friendly
Great value for your buck. Very durable and easy to use. 2 or 3 hits and the crimp is so tight that there is no movement of wires. The only drawback to me was that it has to be held down in place before crimping.

Effective hammer crimp
I hammer crimped 4/0 awg wire copper lugs with this and it did the job well. I crimped it on several sides of the lug to be safe but it was probably over kill. The only thing to note is that there’s a metal coating on the spot you hammer and it chips off after you start hammering. The metal underneath is strong and crimps well, but I don’t understand why they put on the cheap, metal coating on the outside.

save your money buy this instead of a hydraulic crimper
This is one of the better tools I have purchased in a long time. So simple and so effective. I have had 2 gauge cables come out of lugs that were put on with a hydraulic press. With this tool and a 4 or 5 pound hammer you are going to get a great crimp that can tell is going to hold. Works with 10 gauge wire too, just don't hit is so hard.

Works good.
I used it to install wiring for my car stereo, then later a crane at work needed some wires repaired and I used it. Worked flawlessly every time. Connections look good too.

Great Tool!!!
I don't make up cables very ofter so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a higher end tool. I've borrowed and tried other crimping tools with mixed results. I saw a similar tool on YouTube and liked the results and ease of use. I use Lincoln Electric welders so, I thought why not.Result: I'm so pleased with this tool. Not only does it make great crimps, it was the least expensive (with a brand name). I made up 4ga and 6ga cables without a single issue. Great Tool!! Good quality!! Highly recommend.

Heavy-duty
Much less expensive than than a heavy-duty lever/plier type crimper.Provides consistent results and will probably last a lifetime.

Bueno

Worked well
Makes good crimps, the piston had chrome plating which cracked/flacked off within the first few hits with a hammer, but other than that it worked well.

buy this you won’t regret it
great product easy to use good results. quick shipping and i am happy i ordered. as per other recommendation i used my vise and it worked perfectly. i bought bulk welding cable 2/0 which as per box is the max size. a bulk bag of lugs and i was in the battery cable business. i did buy some large shrink wrap in red and black so i could easily identify pos & neg. this really was easy. strip off a short bit of the outer insulation layer set the lug in the crimper in the vise the hold the stripped end even while cranking up the vise. shrink wrap with heat gun and cables were ready. This made my RV battery project upgrade a snap. including making a few changes along the way. I did try the hammer technique and while it did work and was a bit quicker I prefer using the vise as it holds the crimper and the lug in place while I hold the cable end in place thru the vise tightening

Great for certain projects but not all
This works well as described. Just keep in mind in order to use this the cables can not be ran in the vehicle. The unit needs to be on a very solid surface. Good for making jumper cables for a battery bank. I ran a 4gauge wire from engine to the back of my fan. To use this tool I should have put the lugs on first. Problem was I was not sure of the lengths I was going to end up with.
