Well-built
I bought this vest for my dog 5yrs ago (when she was 10wks old) and am still able to use it today! Even though I keep it in my car, the vest has shown no signs of fading and the buckle is holding up great.

No Problem Except The Tag
My dog has no complaints, as a Quadriplegic, I sometimes leave the vest on him at night and he still sleeps well with it. Only thing is, when the dog starts scratching on the tag or rolls on the grass does the tags starts tearing, so buy extras if you can.

Comfortable for the dog
This started to fit my pup when he turned 4 months old. He's on the large side for a Golden Retriever puppy.I love that the front and the patches "In Training" are reflective. There are two plastic rectangles on other side of the handle to attach bags, or rig a handle. The buckle has a lock that slides easily to lock and unlocks just as easily. The underside is soft - almost like a light fleece feel to it.The ring to clip the leash is really large.I started out just letting my dog try this on. I am training my own service dog, so I got to choose the vest he is training in :) I then had him walk around my house, while feeling me hold the handle, so he could get used to how it all felt and tugged on him. (He was trained by that point to follow my snapping fingers, so he went where ever I snapped my fingers :) Sorta like using a clicker.) When he seemed comfortable with that, I used a no tug harness under this service vest. It clips in the front and prevents him from tugging - you know... end bad habits before they settle in and all that :) As we progressed, and as his comfort in going out with the harness on increased, I graduated to sliding the leash through a regular harness and through the large loop on the service vest. We then moved to using only the service vest's leash loop. Now, I'm getting him used to the leash being rigged through the rectangles that you can attach a bar or bags to. It makes it look like the leash extends the handle... or is a large floppy bar/handle...He was able to be examined for his check ups with this on.What I don't like:I feel that the strap in front is a little too high.As you extend the front strap, the reflective part is no longer going entirely across the dog. So far, I've extended it a total of one inch, so not a huge deal, yet....If you're not careful how you close the clasp, it is possible to pinch puppy :( I've done this once so far in the month that we've been actively using this vest. Make sure puppy stays still and avoid the pinchOverall, I like this a lot. I contemplated using this as the permanent vest, but I'll likely swap to a different one, but it's been great for training! The "patches" are replaceable with "service dog" patches. So, if you feel this works for you and your pup, you can graduate and not pay a lot of $ on a whole new vest, just buy the patches and replace them. (they're velcro'd on... easy peasy)

Great training aid to others/kids, other dog owners
Perfect sizing, expandable and I have huge dog. Very nice and impressive. I do not attach the leash to the chrome ring part, as I have on other heavy duty harnesses and my 115lb giant dog can easily ruin it, in an instant. This is for identification only, not control in how I use it. I use a horse rope (face) halter, to actually control my dog with this product, also purchased on amazon. This was so that when we walk with my new puppy, stray kids and over enthusiastic strangers don't interrupt us. The tags that are backed with velcro look very nice. I also purchased do not pet velcro tags. I have two dogs, so they wear one of each in training/walks and do not pet tags. When I have told people no, when they ask to pet they get highly offended especially if they ask in front of others (their own kids). It should be common sense, I do not feel that I need to explain. (No, I don't want your grimy kids hands or yours on my show dogs, my dogs are being trained to be indifferent to strangers/crowds and strange dogs. I do not want them interacting with your dog, your kids or you. You wouldn't teach your kids to talk, come up to or be friendly to strangers, why should I encourage friendliness to people and dogs we don't know. We have our own family and friends and my dogs need to be discerning. My dogs need to learn to listen without distraction, not learn that people are treat or petting dispensers, then subsequently bothering people who don't want that interaction. I don't want strangers in my house. My dogs needs to alert me and be wary and vigilant with strangers. I live in a city with 700 murders a year. I need my dogs socialized and indifferent to stranger's presence in public, and not to engage with you.) This helps. My dogs are civilized on their city walks and can now better walk through crowded fests/sidewalks without reaction, not slowing us down, embarrassing me by sliming with their beards and molesting strangers/kids for attention or petting. On today's walk, strangers saw my dogs and a kid ran toward us screaming can I pet, rather than me saying one word, the parent said he's in training and read the do not pet sign. The kid was 12, so I know he could read it too, just didn't want to heed. We just walked on our way. Great training aid, highly visible (I bought red) harness! Looks classy.
