Easy to install
I love these. They improved my Player Strat. I love my guitar now. I'm left handed. I love fender guitars in general. I have the Cobain JagStang from the Nevermind era. I had a customer $2000 Strat from the mod shop. I love them all. This really improved my Strat. This is my Catocaster. I soldered in the pick ups as soon as I got them and my buddy came over to jam. Man it sounded great. I use amp modeling. Personally, I'm done with regular amplifiers. I love Amp modeling and Fender. You will not be disappointed with these if you're a Fender enthusiast. The pickup covers come white. I opted for chrome. My Catocaster purrs.

Amazing sound. Amazing quality. Easy set up.
These pickups sound fantastic. I put them in my 2006 Fender Highway One Stratocaster. If you have even a basic concept of soldering these will be VERY easy to install. The wiring diagram is clearly laid out and easy to understand. As I said earlier, the sound of these is amazing. The neck pickup is nice and thick but not muddy, the middle has that classic chime and the bridge does a very good job of being trebily but not harsh or "ice picky". They really are not that noisy in the single positions. YES they do have a him to them, but its not bad! The middle positions are very him free though. If you want a great authentic sounding stratocaster sound with just a little more balls these are a great choice. My only issue with these pickups is hardly an issue at all because it's so minor. The issue is that the wax that they put on the pickup to stop humming does cover the screw holes that you use to mount the pickups to the pickguard. So before you start trying to screw them on, take a loom at the holes for wax, if there is any just use a small pin or toothpick even and just poke through the hole to clear it out.Enjoy these! They are amazing.

Great pups!
Wow is all I can saw about these cool pickups!Nice and round is how I would describe them. Meaty but not too thick. Even through the tone spectrum and nice clarity and sparkle when you turn the tone pot all the way up.Attractively packaged - cool wax covered cloth push back wire - easily marked for correct installation. My Strat has never sounded this good - I think I may put these pups in all of my Strats.EDIT 10-23-2012After using these for a few months I still love them!Great tones and good looks!**********************************************09/27/2013The gift that keeps on giving!I still love these pickups - they just sound awesome. It never fails that I get a compliment on my guitar's tone EVERY NIGHT I play. Awesome.Building a second guitar and these will go in there also.

Absolutely fantastic!
Wow, I am really impressed. I got these for my son's Bullet Squier without expecting much. The original pickups in that guitar were thin and unimpressive, to say at least, and I knew anything I'd throw on it would be an improvement. What a difference the new ones made! The sound is now thicker, juicier, with much more mean and dirty attitude, when playing leads. In the clean channel they have that bell quality, which is what I was after. Clearly pronounced lows and highs, with mids a bit scooped. The single coil hum is very tolerable (and I am sensitive in that area!). Plugged into a Twin Amp this guitar sounds HUGE. I further replaced the tremolo with one that has a true steel block and much more mass. The result: the Bullet Strat now sounds better than my American Deluxe, believe it or not. When I play it, it inspires me to play more... Who would have thought!? Cheers!

Exactly what my Strat was missing
I did some work on a friends guitar, a Surf Green Squire. I rewired his tone pots and the 5 way switch to his liking and that guitar came alive. It had Fender Custom Shop pickups in it, so i bought a set of these for my Hellacaster....WOW. Jimi and SRV are jumping out of this thing now. These sound THICK. They can be noisy at high gain or high volume, but that's something you should be used to by now

Sound great!
Totally cleaned up the sound. No more mud.

A must upgrade for stock pickups
I was naive. I believed the stock pickups sounded good even though I never stopped fussing with the amp EQ settings and constantly adding several pedals to create the desired sound. Then I installed the Fat 50s and immediately realized that my strat was able to finally breathe. For the first time it feels alive, it wants to sing, it wants to scream. And this time without fussing with the EQ and without the need for all those pedals. Truly awesome.

The best Fender pups out there
I will never take these down from my Strat (Japan 62 reissue). The fattest, warmest, roundest sound - just as a Strat should sound as I see it.

Not cheap, but amazing tone
Take the 57/62 and add a bit of oomph and you've got the Fat50s. Not lacking in A N Y T H I N G but not overpowering either. Likely the best strat pickups I've ever used - taking the crown from the 57/62 by just a smidge.

Overwhelmingly satisfied
With this pickup set I finally found the sound I’ve been searching for the last four years. I’m bit of a Fender purist and have tried Texas Specials, Vintage Noiseless and Highway 1-pickups prior to these Fat 50s. My issues have been in the upper frequenzies where Texas Specials are a bit too edgy and aggressive, Vintage Noiseless too muddy and Highway One (which of course only available second hand) lacks the ”body” - sounding thin without character, Fat 50s is an almost perfect blend with fullbodied rich sound, well balanced highs and a low end with plenty of punch. Not as snappy and aggressive in attack as Texas Specials which was my main issue, my ears litterarly hurt when playing Texas Special at times. My almost forgotten Strat became my favourite Strat overnight after installing Fat 50s.

Kaufempfehlung!

Excellent Pickups
They live up to their name producing tones with richness and substance while retaining the cutting edge of the 50's strat. Excellent pickups indeed.
