Another odd ball use
I am a hunter and I own a goat farm, so I skin a lot of animals. I have owned several skinning knives from well known knife companies and none of them work well. Having spent well over $300.00 to find a good skinning knife, so I started reviewing all the hunting forums for a better idea. I came across a message where someone said they use these blades in a small utility handle. I gave them a try and they work great. Best of all, I can toss them when I am done and install a new clean blade.

you don't need a special for this blade, a regular utility knife works and retracts.
this blade do a great job cutting shingles! I always thought, the regular blade was all I needed. after giving these a shot realized I've been wrong all these years. If you cutting shingles, this is a Most Have tool.

Great for removing carpet
I used this to remove old carpet from several rooms. Worked much better then a standard blade. Blade was very sharp and didn't dull at all after cutting a lot of carpet. I would recommend buying these to anyone removing carpet.

Sharp and Strong
As expected. Used to cut off a couple old golf club grips. I was recommended to use this type to avoid damaging the graphite shafts. I don't think it was really necessary.

Lifesaver
I ran over a basketball with my snowblower, which became jammed between the impeller and the housing. I could not remove it despite rmany hours of trying and use of multiple tools. With this blade I was able to trim the excess rubber right down to the jammed area and then finish the job with a small hand saw (usually used to cut branches). Saved a $100+ trip to the repair shop! Not a standard use for this blade but an inexpensive, good addition to a tool kit for odd uses like this!

Not for cold weather roofing
These blades are definitely thicker than standard hook blades. They cut very well when the shingles are warm and soft. But when it is cold outside (under 5 degrees Celsius) the tip of the hook snaps off very easily, especially when cutting laminated shingles. In fact I went through 2 blades (both sides, both hooks) in 5 minutes. Kind of frustrating. On a warmer day, the blade lasted much longer. The fact that the blade is thicker is a good thing, but being so rigid, it seems to snap really easy when there is resistance or catches a nail.

Exactly what I was looking for.
Works perfectly as a draw knife. Very useful.
