This second book delves more deeply into the developing relationship between Balto and Casinni. During their time together he begins to have feelings for her. This is something he's never felt for a woman, he's also never been monogamous or wanted to be. While Casinni believes he won't give her back to Lucian Balto is beginning to feel like he's two different men. Is he Balto the man who's developing feelings for the woman he calls his property, or is he the Skull 💀King who is heartless and only cares about his underworld empire. Which person will he be when he finally makes a deal with Lucian to turn Casinni back over knowing she's going to be tortured and ultimately killed? The final book should be great, even though Casinni ends up with Balto what will their relationship ultimately be like? There will be a war between Lucian and Balto who will ultimately win? I've spent so much time in Penelope's different interconnected worlds set in Italy I sure hope she can come up with more stories set there!

Ah...the story continues in this amazing second book in The Skull King series. Wow. This book was absolutely fantastic and picked up right where The Skull King left off.The plot thickens in this book and Ms. Sky does an excellent job of getting us deep inside the heads of both Cassini and Balto. Their relationship is quite the roller coaster and that makes the story all the more intriguing. There is suspense, romance, HOT steamy steam (like, melt your kindle steam), and a story that keeps you guessing. I was pleasantly surprised to see the many conflicts between Cassini and Balto...it's not all smooth sailing from the moment he takes her and that made the plot so very enjoyable.The bottom line is that this is another A-plus from Penelope Sky. She delivers her signature suspenseful, hate vs love, sexy style with alpha males and the sassy females who love them (despite kinda hating them). This is a series you cannot miss!!! It's unputdownable and I cannot wait for the conclusion in The Skull Ruler!So, to sum up...stop reading reviews and start reading this series. 'Nuff said!! It's an amazing story you cannot miss!

Balto and Cassini, what a match. He is the Skull King and she has been a prisoner during most of her 20's. He's about to return her to the horrible husband that tricked her into marrying him to save her lover's life. Even though Balto doesn't say it he has feelings for Cassini and at the last minute cannot do it. So now will her husband kill Balto or will Balto kill him?

I enjoyed every minute of this book...I binged read all night..stopping only to take a nap. Balti is psychotic..obessive and absolutely my man of choice..😂😂😂😂 Great job....cannot wait until book 3. June 4th...I already preordered.

Cassini is Balto's prisoner. She tries to resist and defy him but fails. I was a little disappointed how Cassini caved in to him too much, especially when he made certain remarks to her. She stood up to other people. She discovers more of Balto's violent world. There are some twists to the plot I liked. I still look forward to reading the next book.

You must read The Skull King first in order to appreciate this book. The Author has a template with her Series- an Alpha Male & a strong & feisty Female. Balto & Cassina are the main characters & their story & relationship evolves in The Skull Crusher. Balto is using Cassini to exact revenge on his arch enemy-her husband Lucian. But Cassini has changed Balto & we'll have to wait for the next book to see how this war between Balto & Lucian plays out. Another great Series from Penelope Sky!

OMG! Edge of my seat all day! I been counting the days for this book and it didn't disappoint!!!! As always it made you feel the emotion. Penelope is my fav writer and always writes in a way that just grabs you. I have read all of her books and usually get an ARC but couldn't wait! I had to buy it first thing and read it! Can't wait for the next book! Thanks again penelope for taking me away and into your beautiful story one again!

Amazing, Amazing amazing second book! I love this author. These books keep getting better and better. I love how we get to see Balto and Cassini's relationship really develop in this book. How Balto is internally struggling on how he really feels about her and still trying to be the Skull King. The ending- It killed me now we have to wait a month to see what happens!!

We follow on exactly where the last book finished. Balto is a brutal alpha Male , who enjoys Cassida. She realises that her predicament has altered in the sense she is with an all male that she is definitely interested in, rather than an old villain who acquired her due to deception. There is some really violent scenes that some readers may find to graphic, but it is necessary and not just indulging. There is definitely drama, intrigue and very explicit erotic scenes, but there is also deep emotionally charged romantic encounters, loyalty and a really good story. Yet again a cliffhanger to lead us into the next book. Who will live, who won’t? At last the Skull King appears to be human, a trait he never realised he had. Cassida is one very strong willed bossy, brave lady who has been a pawn most of her adult life. Will she be granted an horizon? Great 5 star book

Balto (skull king) and Cassini his captive (wife of his arch enemy lucian) and whom he is obsessed with (although he won't admit it) - what a relationship these to have going on! Go on read the book it's a real book feast for those who have never read Penelope sky and the rating says it all - I would just add that the rating stars should have an extra large star so that you can click this for outstanding - this book would get the large star

Die Geschichte ist super und echt spannend. Anfangs war ich etwa skeptisch, aber die Geschichte nimmt den Leser gefangen und die Liebesgeschichte ist schön. Aber der Preis ist mir für ein E-Book viel zu hoch.

The second book in the series has fallen flat. The story felt slow. Yes there is hot sex and violence, but it was predictable. Hoping for more in the next book.
