Q: Will my iron 5 1/2 inches wide fit

I have a 5" iron and that fits perfectly as it doesn't come into contact with white frame. The black back plate stands proud of the white frame which measures about 6" wide overall so on the face of it probably could take a 5 1/2 iron. However a wider hot iron could come into contact with the wings at the side and becomr a hazard. I really don't have the expertise to advise you safely. Hope someone has the answer for you.

I rarely use the screws provided with such items, as they are mostly inadequate. Choose good quality fixings appropriate to the type of wall

Q: Does this iron wall bracket fit cordless iron?

It's not something I can answer for sure but there is a strap that holds the iron in place. Therefore a regular size cordless iron should fit.

There are screws to enable you to fit it to the wall.
