Great for specific use.
I've been looking for a device like this for a while, but I was thinking too big and only looking at routers and security appliances offering parental controls. I came across this purely by accident and so glad I did.First, this is not to be confused with a security appliance/device. I work in Cybersecurity and this simply is not something I would even remotely consider for security. What it is, however, is a very good device for controlling when you want your kids OFF the Internet. We have four children and, being a "tech dad", I like having devices around. My kids are exposed to a lot of technology and it's not always a good thing. We monitor usage the best we can, but we also have very active lives and don't always know when someone has snuck off to their room to watch TV or hid away in the home office to play Fortnite. Even when we say it's time to "GET OFF", it doesn't always happen immediately. That's where the FingBox comes into play.If I want to make sure any or all of the kids' devices are offline, I can do that very easily from the app and pause the Internet for as many devices or users (kids) as I want - instantly. I can schedule times for them, see when certain devices have connected and even new devices, for that matter. For example, just last night after receiving the device and quickly setting it up (easily, I may also add), my wife said that one of our sons had enough YouTube for the evening. He was watching on his XBOX One, so all I had to do was open the app, find the XBOX One and then pause the Internet for it. No more YouTube, Netflix, or anything else that he wanted stream was available. Once he was downstairs and ready for dinner, I just un-paused it.This was basically all the functionality I was looking for and it works perfectly for me. There are some additional features also, but you can read about those in the product description. I just like being able to assign devices to users, pause/block anything anytime I need and schedule offline times.Again, it's not really a security or a full-feature parental control device. It's for fairly specific application, but that's exactly what I was looking for.

Great Device To Monitor Your Network
Overall is a really good device to monitor your network and it gives me a peace of mind that I don't have any unknown devices on my network. Initially it surprise me on how many devices I had on my network on wireless and on wire which can help you determine if your Wi-Fi Access Point can handle that many wireless devices. All feature work as advertised. The things that I love are the quick notifications when a device goes offline or when there's a new device on your network which helps you take quick action. Also blocking new devices is a cool feature. Setup was somewhat bumpy because I was already using the Fing Application on my PC and Phone without the Fing Device which created a confusion after I set it up. The DigitalFence is a nice feature but it takes time to learn and I don't need to know when my neighbor goes by my house so I'm skipping this one. Vulnerability detections found on your devices takes a few days to report which IMO is slow. For the price and after a month of use, I recommend this product to monitor your network. This is a great starting point to secure your network.

Great product! so so thought on design....
The box works great but there is a sub fee to get all the bells and whistles. Works a lot like xfinity xfi except has a better block of wifi and auto rejects new. The thing I feel could be better is if it had and in and out feature. Comcast boxes only come with 2 ports and this take one ethernet port and it would be nice if it was updated with one so people won't have to go buy an additional switch. Other than that it would get 5 stars.

Great product for the average network/user.
Hello and please note I am an IT professional giving my review. This Product is great for simple home networks at normal ISP speeds. I highly recommend it for the average consumer. The security controls, device management, parental controls, the ISP speed test verifications, and much more give you complete control over your network. The iPhone app is great and easy to use for all the prior mentioned settings. However if you are a more than average user on a more than average network at home especially on gigabit ISP speeds it might not be for you. Again it’s a great product for 90% of users I am just not within that group. The customer service was great with questions and answers. So all in all if you need a complete network monitor on a simple network this is hands down the best product for your money. The price is also very reasonable for all that you get. Good luck and happy networking.

Complete Turd
I had the original version 1 of these, actually got it through their kickstarter and waited months for it to arrive. It was awesome initially. Worked flawlessly and did everything they said it would. I could use it to block specific devices from the network, setup notifications when devices came online, set up schedules for devices to be able to connect and numerous other things. Then they started offering their "premium" service, and after that the version 1 I had became a useless wired paperweight and essentially quit doing anything but scanning the network and listing the devices, which any number of dozens of other free apps will also do, and without the problems. So I contacted customer support, and they were completely and utterly useless. They told me how it was supposed to work, but not how to fix any issues. In the mean time the usb port that powers it became detached from the board which apparently was an issue with the older versions so I purchased a new version 2 after repairing the usb port on my version 1 about 6 times. As soon as I connected my version 2, it completely disabled my entire network. Couldn't log into it with the app, literally everything in my network lost connectivity. Such a disappointment for a company that had such a promising product initially. So now instead of kickstarting them, I'm kicking them to the curb.

A waste of money.
Lousey product. Set up multiple times over several weeks. Would work as expected for first ~20+ hours and then it would sever all network connections to my devices. Only way to get all devices up and working again was to power off fingbox and reboot my router. As I said, I tried running fingbox on multiple occasions over several weeks (even resetting my account entirely on a number of occasions ) and same thing would happen again and again. I got very frustrated with it and have given up trying to use fingbox all together. Worst product I have ever purchased!!! I would be very hesitant in recommending this to any of my friends.
