Glad to see PAKTEK upgraded their material!
Glad to see that PAKTEK upgraded the material on this bag! It seems to be a more durable, woven material, that also looks great! If you're looking for a lightweight, customizable, and all around performer look no further! I used to have one of these bags, but after being used while heavily loaded, I ripped the bottom near the zipper. I still loved the bag, but had to throw it away because it was no longer completely intact. That being said, I purchased a CLC bag, filled it with my tools and promptly returned it the next day. It seemed that nothing fit right! The pockets were just too large for my tools and didn't secure them. With the paktek you have designated "panels" for housing certain types of tools, and also have the option of using a seam ripper to customize the width of the pockets! This works by basically removing the threads that create divisions between pockets and making yourself a wider pocket. This, plus the way the bag is organized, makes it my bag of choice.

ToolPak Original Backpack
I am an HVACR professional and find this absolutely essential for getting all my necessary hand tools and small drill up the ladder to the roof without pulling a tool bag or bucket up with a rope. In my opinion, this is the best tool backpack currently on the market. This product is great for any professional that needs to haul around a lot of hand tools. This thing can also take a lot of abuse and not show signs of wear. Mine has over 30 pounds of tools in it and it is not uncomfortable to wear and the way it is constructed, there doesn't seem to be any stress at the seems. Very well constructed. If you are an licensed HVACR professional and have a Trane parts-counter/store near you, you can purchase it cheaper there (will have Trane name and logo instead of ToolPak but is still made by ToolPak) and you can check it out before making a decision to buy it.

Very versatile, very comfortable..
Love this! Use it to hold tools for my piano service business. Each compartment is easy to access separately, and showing up with a nicely organized backpack is way more professional that having to rummage through a briefcase-type toolcase for the part you're looking for.The pockets do come a little small, so if you are looking to store mostly large pairs of pliers, etc, you will have to do some customizing with a seam ripper. Check out ToolPak's website for good instructional videos. I personally like the small pockets because most of what I have in my bag are smaller, more delicate tools, and this way each one gets its own pocket. They are easier to find that way, and better protected. The shoulder straps are wide, well padded, and very comfortable. The one gripe I do have with this bag is that you can't adjust the straps with the bag on--you have to take it off to release the tension on the clip, and then adjust the strap length. But once you do have it adjusted right, you can put a lot of tools in this bag before you start to feel the weight. It's actually more comfortable than the backpack I take into the mountains on day hikes.

However this is by far the best tool backpack I've seen and very handy and versitile
I wish there were more larger pockets, some are so small they are almost pointless. However this is by far the best tool backpack I've seen and very handy and versitile. The material is very strong and high quality.

This is the 2nd one my husband has bought. Toolpak is a heavy duty brand and since my husband works as an electrician on barges. He has to be moving all over the boats and he gets it done with his toolpak it holds everything he needs and believe me that's a lot of tools.

Best tool bag this far.
Really nice bag. I am a maintenance Technician so I work on multiple pieces of equipment all around the plant. I like how this bag organizes. I wish some of the pockets were a little bigger, if you have any tools with bigger handles it's hard to find a pocket for them. I like that it doesn't have big bulky hard panels like most tool bags. And the laptop pocket is awesome, I don't have to carry my laptop separately.

Perfect for working in the city
Perfect for carrying many tools in city areas. You can cut the stitching to make pockets bigger for larger tools. Great electrical bag.

Small pockets are a pain to customize
My biggest issue is the size of the pockets. Not sure if the company just made so many small pockets just so the title boasts the amount of pockets or they though it was a great idea. Not a good idea. If I could I would have gone back to my clc bag but I already bought this.I like the durability, set up of the compartments and the comfy straps.
