TL;DR: Great product, nearly perfect. Installation is a pain in the butt, but that's not eXtremeRate's fault. Do yourself a favor and get an iFixIt tool kit, it'll really help the installation. Not for beginners, but I absolutely love the end product. 95/100!I should just say at the start, for the sake of full disclosure, that electric lime is my all time favorite color. If you gave me an electric lime turd I'd put it on my shelf for display then immediately drive you to the hospital, cuz that's not normal. Anyway, I might be a little bit biased.Let me also echo what others have said: This is not a beginner's project. (I thought it would be when I bought the shell; I should have read more of the reviews.) Replacing a PS4 controller shroud involves removing tiny, easily lost screws, maneuvering tiny, easily broken wires, and a touch of brute force. This is not a flaw with eXtremeRate's product, it's just a result of the way that SONY builds their controllers.That said, being a beginner myself it took about an hour to get the shell on, but holy crap was it worth it to have my favorite controller in my favorite color! I'd give the fit and finish 95/100, some spots don't line up perfectly, but the difference is so small as to be unnoticable. The finish on the shell has a nice, silky feel in the hand, a sharp contrast with SONY's own lowest common denominator plastics. The rubber plunger under the home button didn't fit the new shell quite perfectly either, but it was easy enough to make it work that it's all the same in the end.As a nice bonus, ER sent along a screwdriver and enough screws that I could afford to lose a few along the way. Not everybody does this, it's always nice to see customer friendly practices.Long review for a small product. No, the shell isn't perfect, but it IS damn good. If you go into this expecting a five minute job and a factory finished fit you'll be disappointed, if you go in expecting a PITA installation and a really good result you'll probably be happy. If this looks like something you'd like, and you're willing to put in the elbow grease to make it work, I'd strongly recommend the purchase!SONY, by the way, only gets 3/5 stars for ease of disassembly. You'd think they were hiding gold in there or something, sheesh.

I had a lot of problems putting this controller together.The silicone part behind the PS button doesn't look like it will fit. It doesn't look like it does on my original shell. I promise, it fits. I even cut the holes on the silicone, which was unecessary.The screw holes on the hand grip part, don't line up. I don't know whos fault that is though. I did use a bottom shell from a different company, but it could have also been the original innards that loop around that make it not line up. I used a heat gun to help.I also cut the little stems that usually lock the top and bottom together...those little clips that usually break the first time you open the shells to mod? I figured I didn't need them.There are gaps in the seems by the triggers. I don't know if it is because I broke apart the clips? It doesn't bother me, but I see a lot of reviews and most people don't like that.I think it looks great and everything feels solid and works the way it should (I always test all features as soon as I get it together)I also have a clear hard shell skin coming in to protect it.All in all, I know buying Dualshock parts is an adventure because you don't know what you are going to get, especially if you aren't sure what it is that you already have. This is a great piece that works for me!

I followed multiple tutorials and was looking at this side by side with my original controller shell and for the life of me, this shell would not fit whatsoever. It didn’t even have all the connectors/clips it’s supposed to!

Rather than buy a complete controller that doesn't even come in the color you want from Sony or some 3rd party, or buy the cheap looking dbrand skin for the ds4, this is a really great looking and feeling shell for a ds4 controller.I love the neon chartreuse color, and this was exactly what I was looking for in a ds4 controller for my ps4 pro & PC. Taking apart a ds4 and swapping the shell out for this isn't rocket science, but it's important to find a good tutorial video on YouTube and follow along closely. Also, you can go to ifixit dot com and search for dual shock 4 PlayStation 4 & it will give you a video & step by step breakdown of how to take apart the controller.I used an ifixit kit to take everything apart which made it a lot easier, but really all you'd need is a small #1 I believe Phillips driver, an old credit card or guitar pick to pry the shell apart, and ideally a pair of long tweezers. It's not particularly that hard to do there's just a lot of steps, and if you don't do them in the right order or forget one it can screw things up a little.If you've never taken apart a ds4 before, it'll probably take an hour or two to tear it apart & swap out the new shell. Again it's not that hard just time consuming.The color is bright and perfect, and it has this sort of "soft touch" plastic to it that makes it really nice to hold. Much better than the original plastic shell. It's not slippery or slick, it's got a little texture and some grip to it, along with looking 100x better.For just $15 and some modding instead of $60 for an entirely new controller, this let's you tinker and mess with your own stuff. It's a great opportunity to clean out your controller as well while you're at it, and is good to teach yourself how to maintain them. It also is cool to see what other ways you can mod the ds4 if you want to in the future, with different buttons or even LED light kits from places.Super happy with this, the color is amazing, it feels way better than the stock plastic ds4 shell. If you like to tinker & mod, try this out! It really isn't that hard, just follow instructions and give it some time.

Really liked the Really Bright White Color !! Sad part was it didn't fit up to My Newer type PS4 Slim CUH-2215B Controller . So I'll keep it because you never know when You'll run into an Older Controller that will take this type of controller Face Plate .

I definitely 100% recommend this face plate. Very easy to install works on almost any PS4 controller. Make sure you have the correct model before you order. And now my controller looks and feels great feels just like a new controller

Definitely difficult to replace the front cover, but once I figured it out it looks great!

A new DualShock4 is $75+ but you only get this orange top half. So I used a second hand controllers guts!(Do with this info, as you will)
