Christ, THE CALL
Lets challenge the idea of "return on investment" and "ownership" versus a really filled and productive life. Only Jesus Christ is the source of life.

" Revolution Of Love" & "From Munich With Love" 1972, Pioneers of YWAM"
I, along with 1,500 other new young missionaries in 1972, went to live at the newly purchased YWAM "Hurlach Castle", in Hurlach, Germany. We sang, preached and introduced many tens of thousands to the Lord Jesus Christ, throughout Europe and at the Munich Olympics. There we met Loren Cunningham, a reverent, humble, and thoroughly spiritual man of God! He told us of Christ's plans, and how God showed him to go throughout the whole earth declaring the Word of the Lord! He sang Christian songs with us, prayed, and taught us of Gods vision for this ministry. We were the pioneers of what is now just that ....a world wide mission field. The Lord has been faithful and truthful of his plans. There (in Hurlach, Germany) we were taught by Corrie Tenboom and Brother Andrew "God Smuggler", along with Loren and many others, how to reach the lost and searching. It was historical and life changing for all of us, "and for those that received Christ into their hearts!" We (the young missionaries), came from every nation, spoke every language, guided by the Spirit....lead and humbly taught by Loren...singing songs of LOVE and PEACE, SPIRIT-FILLED songs of Glory. It was a wonderful and deeply spiritual movement! "From Munich With Love", was made into a YWAM movie and book. Loren surely saw "Gods PLAN" unfold, PTL! ...."THANK YOU LOREN FOR BEING OBEDIANT!" I, without reservation recommend "LOREN CUNNINGHAM: INTO ALL THE WORLD (Christian Heroes: Then and Now)", it is deeply moving and insightful...."a Spiritually anointed and touching book".

Visited all the 325 countries in the world!
At 13, Loren was at the altar when words in big block letters appeared before him: Go Ye into all the World & preach the gospel. At 21, Loren saw a vision of a huge map of the world with waves rolling onto the continents. Then the waves turned to young peopleflowing to every part of the world. What happened when his wife Darlene, died in a car accident and God asked Loren if he would still serve him? Find out when you read this book. What Loren Cunningham and the rest of the team/workers at YWAM have done under God's leadership is amazing! Get your kids excited about doing the Lord's work. Read this in your family devotions. It is a book for all ages. You will realize that we are still living in the day of the miraculous. God is still at work. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Janet & Geoff Benge, Christian Heroes Then & Now: Loren Cunn
This is one of twenty-five biographies written for juveniles by the Benges for the Christian Heroes: Then & Now Series, and published by YWAM. Interestingly, of all the subjects of these volumes, Loren Cunningham is the only one still living. One wonders to what extent his inclusion in this group is due to the fact that he founded YWAM in the early 1960s, and whether the volume might not have been more appropriately placed in YWAM's International Adventures series, all of which deal with contemporary missions work. Loren Cunningham offers a bibliography (at p. 219) noting Cunningham's own works (co-authored with Janice Rogers)- Is That Really You, God? (1984), Making Jesus Lord (1988), and Daring to Live on the Edge (1991). Several of the people and events covered in other YWAM books are also mentioned in passing. The refitting of the Anastasis (see pp 182-84), for example, is treated in Jeannette Lukasse's A Cry in the Streets (2002), while Floyd McClung's work in Amsterdam (see p. 190) is covered in greater depth in McClung's Living on the Devil's Doorstep (2001). The Benges' book serves as a useful biography of Cunningham's life to date. The subject has had an undeniable impact on missions in the latter part of the 20th century and this work is accessible to both juveniles and adults. Like most works in the hagiographic tradition, its focus is on the positive, and the fact that it is published by YWAM could raise questions as to its impartiality. While the definitive biography of Loren Cunningham's life has yet to be written, the fact that the Benges were not content to rely exclusively on secondary materials, but went to the trouble to interview their subject (see p. 219), means that their work will play a role in any subsequent discussion of YWAM's founder.Samuel Pyeatt Menefee

The story of Loren Cunningham, the founder of YWAM, and how if you have faith in God He will provide. It's written in a simple style, for kids really, but it was nevertheless a good read, and a good chance to hear the story of YWAM.
