I only needed a 12" strip, and would have preferred to have 4 or 5 LEDs, but the cut point only provided 3. I made a cut after the cut point, hoping to get the 4th LED, but inadvertently made the cut between LED 4 and it's limiting resistor, which is after the LED and that 4th LED didn't get powered. Theoretically, I think you should be able to make the cut wherever you want, but need to make sure you include the respective resistor for which ever LED will be last in line. I may purchase the connector/ splice kit in the future to make a strip that includes a couple more LEDs. Nonetheless, with only the 3 LED's, the illumination is approximately what it was originally. All of the color combinations work fine. The plaque is an engraved plexiglass panel, with an aluminum housing across the top where the LED strip is located, and the light illuminates the panel, highlighting the engraved image. Not sure why so many are experiencing issues with dead segments, but take care where you cut, and if installing splice connectors, make sure you orient them properly relative to where the 12VDC line is on the strip, and the respective mark on the connectors. If everything is installed properly, any subsequent segments should be powered. Imprinted on the strip is +12V, C, R, B, and when two strips are connected together, the same alignment must be maintained - +12V to +12V. If the strip orientation gets reversed - 12v to B, any subsequent strip(s) will not work. If splicing, the cut has to be made in the center of the cut marks, ensuring there are exposed contact surfaces for the connectors to work properly. You cannot install the connector over the white surface of the strip - no electrical contact will be made.

This product is very easy to apply to the surface that you want. I put these lights up in my kids room along the entire perimeter of the room. The easy to peel and stick backing is key. You will have to measure the surface and order the amount of lights accordingly. Each strip does attach to the next strip that you put up, however, you must diligently connect the prongs with the dots, but overall this product is easy to setup. My kids love the colors and the remote control. You can control the intensity of the colors and the type of display you want. For example, it flashes, pulses or fades as you like. I like them so much I want to put them up in my own room now! The product is quality and worth the money. This product gets five stars!

I ordered this one because it comes with the adhesive 3M backside. Other models have clips that make install a pain, this one was super easy, and I was able to cutoff the excess. One thing on this one, it says to line up the arrow to the arrow on the trip, there was no arrow. The connection only works one way so it’s easy to figure out if it doesn’t turn on one way, flip the connector and it will work. Also, this does not appear to work on a phone app in case you are wondering. The remote can easily break if you sit on it by accident. For the price, this was a great buy for what we needed it.

So the product works fine. The colors are nice, it sticks to the wall, no issues with power, however. I realized something very strange when I changed the color and went to unpause youtube on my TLC Roku TV with the remote (the tv was approx 9 feet away from the power source of the lights and approx 2 ft away from the controller when I figured this out) But if the color was NOT set to light pink (the lighter of the two pinks as pre-set on the provided remote), unpausing youtube on my TLC Roku TV would cause it to switch from any of the other colors to light pink. I could resolve this by simply changing the color back to whichever one I preferred after the video was already playing, and the problem did not happen when pausing a video; only when unpausing. I have no idea how these two things are correlated? But it would only happen when I used my Roku Remote to unpause what I was watching. This is an incredibly minor issue that I'm sure I can chalk up to some sort of interference with the receiver of the lights, and the lights are perfect otherwise, but I wanted to mention this in case anyone experiences this same issue (and therefore proves that I'm not just a crazy outlier.) I don't know much about how wireless signals from remotes work, so I can't provide an explanation for this, but I thought I'd mention that it happened with this product :) 10/10 otherwise, great for different colored lighting in pictures. They are quite bright though, so I would avoid looking directly at them.

I can only give a review for the first set of lights I ordered. They worked great and are beautiful. Remote works and is a great product that why I ordered another set of lights. The second set adhered to the wall great but when we tried to turn them on they wouldn’t. I have a very upset kid right now.

Update: After only about 4 months, one of the strips flickers even though its turned off and when turned only only glows red and cant be changed. The other strip turns randomly on by itself and can't be turned off unless you unplug it. Now i have to take them off, which is ripping off all the paint thats stuck on the glue and I have to repaint before finding new lights that actually work. Ordered 2 of the exact same, but received 2 different ones, even though it's exactly the same packaging with the the same numbers on it. One of them has the LED lights farther apart than the other one (see pictures). We didn't notice this until both strips were installed to the wall. Tried to remove it but the paint is coming off, so we just left it that way. Also, one of the strips randomly changes colors, most of the time it goes into "flash mode" without anyone touching a remote, kinda annoying. Otherwise the LEDs seem nice and bright and for the price they are ok, but wouldn't buy again.

I Purchased this LED strip lighting said to illuminate the underside of my sons computer desk which worked very well. My son is 10 years old and this makes a great night light in his room as he leaves it on during sleep.
