A Round of Golf with Tommy Armour

If you're a fan of golf from the past you'll like this. It's also very helpful for one's own game.

Well, I was disappointed in the book I received as most of the fun old illustrations were omitted. I noticed immediately that the sea monster drawing was missing from the water hole chapter. I love these old golf books for the drawings.The text looks correct, but it's not the same book without those illustrations.I'm going to find an original style with the illustrations on eBay or elsewhere and send this back to Amazon.Bummer.

Good review of his teachings in How to Play Your Best Golf All the Time, which was an excellent golf instruction book, as well as a lot of common sense teachings on how to actually play a course. I would definitely recommend it, and it is not outdated at all.

A little difficult to follow the ideas.

As always with Tommy .. the best of golf instruction. Written in a way that reminds us how the language was and should be

simple, short, concise easy to read and very applicable

It is a style from the past. Worth the read even if a bit old fashioned. (actually they use the same style today but maybe more politically correct) Very much like how Bobby Darin sings Clementine in 1960 is a frowned upon blast from the past (look it up on Youtube) The point is to get your head screwed on straight to play golf. It was a bit entertaining but not a real great book to improve my golf.

If you like Golf Channel's Playing Tips from the Pros (like I do), this book reads like the script for the original idea. Excellent approach to teaching golf course management.

I couldn’t put it down.Great book

It's an okay book, but it's not going to make you a better golfer. The lessons Tommy Armour tries to teach in this book are things any experienced golfer already knows. I wish he would have gone deeper into the mental game and his shot selection process.

Wer nicht so recht weis wie er es auf dem Platz anfangen soll ( Strategie) oder sich im falschen Zeitpunkt die falschen Gedanken macht, der sollte das Heftchen verinnerlichen.

Well worth the money
