Boj Olaneta Chrome-Plated Double Lever Corkscrew

My mother, in her 60's, enjoys a nice glass of wine from time-to-time. On a previous visit, I notice she had a little trouble when opening the bottle. As I was shopping for her Christmas gift, I remembered the difficulty she had with her old corkscrew, I started looking a different styles and configurations of wine bottle openers. I had noticed the BOJ Brand already, and they looked like high quality corkscrews. I ordered this one with the wing design because I thought it might be easier to use. The packaging is minimal, but the craftsmanship is wonderful. It just feels good in your hand. During our Christmas visit at my parents house, the corkscrew was used many times, by my mother and other family, it was everything I had hoped for, and more. This is Excellent quality. Not the cheaply made things you get in the grocery. My mother was able to open bottles with no difficulty, at all. I have recommended it to my family.

I chose this corkscrew because the wings have the gears covered. There was one bottle I had difficulty opening with my old corkscrew, and wasn't watching where my fingers were when I pulled down on the wings with all my might. Ouch! My fingers got clipped! After that, I was very much aware of how those gears can catch the fleshy part of my fingers, and loved that this one had them covered. My old corkscrew broke (probably bought in the supermarket), and I compared the length of the spiral to my new one, and yes, it is a little longer.This one is quality, for sure.

Very well built should last for years . The screw does shred up the cork a bit at one end. VERY easy to operate!

The feel of the corkscrew lacks the smoothness that I expected and twisting the screw into the cork requires a bit of muscle, but, so far, all corks have come out of bottles safely and relatively easily. I would recommend this corkscrew for personal use, but not as a gift.

It works differently than most lever wing corkscrews, in that you turn the entire unit to screw it into the cork. This makes it much easier to use. Seems to be well made and strong. It is the only corkscrew I use now.

Takes some getting used to but very solid and well made. I am very happy I bought this.

Influenced by the eight positive reviews and the interesting design, and looking for a milled blade, I bought this. For the record, I have decades of experience using the classic winged corkscrew, which you can screw into the cork from the top with one hand. This one just didn’t work. You needed a friend to hold the bottle so that you could use both hands twisting it into the cork. Even then, the arms didn’t extend properly. The blade tip was blunted and it wasn’t chrome-plated. Perhaps I received a defective item.

This is another well made item. I can see how buying from the BOJ company will be in my future for any other kitchen or wine needs. It looks really good, too.

This corkscrew is bulky, awkward and very uncomfortable to use, very disappointing.

Desde hace casi 90 años trasciende fronteras. Radica su éxito en la eficacia, la simplicidad y ese aire cotidiano que lo convierte en casi entrañable.

Llevaba tiempo buscando este tipo de sacacorchos que siempre ha habido en casa de mis padres y que lleva más de 40 años dando servicio. Compré otro similar en un bazar y no duró nada. Éste está bien fabricado, es robusto y me encanta. Espero que dure para siempre.

Es el mejor sacacorchos q se puede conseguir. Lo tienen mis padres dsd hace años y es justo el q buscaba, ya q los otros típicos no duran nada o son súper incómodos. Si quieren un sacacorchos q les dure toda la vida esta es sin duda la mejor opción.

Tal cual lo que buscaba, no es frecuente este tipo de sacacorchos, no se gasta., El sistema no tiene desgaste como en artilugios parecidos que cuando no se averían las manijas lo hacen las roscas. Materiales justos y de calidad. Supongo que repetiré pues es un obsequio frecuente para amigos y familiares. Difícil de conseguir, este es el único sitio que lo vi...y lo compré!
