GrillPro41338 Stainless Steel Shish Kebab Set

I will never cook kebobs without this little device ever again. I never really thought about it before, but elevating your kebobs off the grill surface makes a ton of sense and this set works fantastic. Also - it folds for easy storage just about anywhere. The skewers are sturdy and clean up well.

I ordered this for my husband because he frequently complained that it was difficult to prep and transport our kebabs from the kitchen to the grill without the skewers sort of rolling around a lot. I was apparently having an airhead moment when I bought this because I actually did not realize that this rack is intended to go on the grill itself and hold the kebabs off the grates! Yes, you can tell who does all of the grilling in my family!!!Ok, so on the basis of using this as I intended - as a place to put your skewers in preparation for grilling, and as a way to transport them from the kitchen to the grill - this works perfectly. My husband is able to carry a dozen+ skewers on this, without them rolling around or rolling off onto the floor. He lays down the initial six skewers, placing them into their notches on the racks, and then he can begin stacking additional skewers in between those, building up a "pyramid" shape by putting additional skewers in between each gap. This works great for us, and we don't have skewers trying to escape!Now my husband - unlike me - understood on sight exactly how this item was supposed to be used: as a means to grill your skewers without laying them on the grates of the grill. So he did try using it in that manner with a batch of Shish Tawook chicken we were grilling on skewers. He did not feel this item was well-suited to its actual intended purpose. He noted that it's actually kind of difficult to remove it from the grill with the skewers still in their grooves... that it's awkward to transport after it has been heating up on the grill. He also was not pleased with the quality of actual grilling the meat received when suspended on this rack. He ended up taking each skewer off and placing them directly on the grates again.This item receives four stars from me because it works perfectly as "I" intended it to be used - and so I'm pleased... but seems to poorly execute it's actual, stated intention and the function it was actually designed to fulfill. In other words - you'll love it if you want a rack to move skewers from the kitchen to the grill... but I'm not sure you'll be pleased with it if you actually try using it ON the grill.

I should have purchased the set along time ago. The bacon-wraped tiger shrimp-kebabs I've been doing on the grill for about 30 years came out better than they ever have. It really made a difference in the grilling process to have the skewers slightly elevated and not sticking to the grates. Folds easily for storage and cleaning was a snap in the dishwasher.

This is well made and a great idea. I found the frame to be too shallow for larger pieces of veggies or meats. They hit the grill which makes them stick. It sort of defeats the purpose. But good for your smaller stuff.

Purchased directly through Amazon, I never inspected this product in a retail store. The first thing that struck me when I opened the package is how thin the metal it is. Closer inspection suggests it isn't stainless at all or a VERY low grade of stainless. As someone with a materials engineering degree, the first thing I checked was to see if is non-magnetic. This metal in the GrillPro 41388 is HIGHLY magnetic, which is possible for some times of stainless steel but unlikely for a consumer product like. Moreover, I can't find the word "stainless" anywhere on the box.My first use of the kabob rack at a birthday party was particularly cumbersome because of the lack of a locking mechanism between the two folding halves. If you are prepping large kabobs,I would never take this kabob rack loaded to the grilling area. I feel that the rack is too low for the food threaded on the skewers. Unless you precisely cut each piece the recommended size (a ruler ought to be included) it is difficult to lift and turn. The food is already sticking and you can have difficulty turning the shish kebab skewers and have the food turn with it. The meat is not as much a problem as the sizes of the vegetables accompanying it. I personally want the smoking searing flavors on the veggies as well as on the meat. Will have to figure out how to raise the rack a little higher to solve this problem or dispense with the rack and cook directly on the surface. It can have a tendency to burn the veggies or fruit. this way. The item was used once so I can't return it but would like to. Maybe I will go back to wooden skewers.

why did I tear the old kebabs off the grill leaving parts behind? why? this puppy allows me to cook it all, turn it and remove it with no mess and no hassle. the frames folds in half and stores easily.

I always love to bbq lamb kebab but it is too hard on a conventional fire pit. I even thought about building a long narrow steel fire pit by myself. but this thing solves my problem. I can conveniently put it on my fire pit and do my kebab.Cons: aside from the convenience, the fire power is not as easy to control because you basically cannot move the chacoal once it is burning, and you need to be really careful turning the kebab because the handle is exposed to heat as well.

Product is good but isnt perfect for the grill. May be the sleeve can be round. Also the it can be improved a bit.

Wenn nur das Gestell rosten würde, wäre es für mich noch okay. Aber nach mehrmaliger Benutzung blättert der Chrom ab und bleibt teilweise im Fleisch hängen. Das kann nicht gesund sein. Habe mir dann Edelstahlspieße gekauft.

Wir haben es probiert, aber das Gestell ist im Grunde ein Witz. Wir nutzen nun die Spiesse, da sie schön groß sind und viel darauf Platz hat.
