If you need to adapt M2, get one
It looks to be a high-quality item. Iโm impressed by the circuit design. I havenโt tried it yet, but I will and Iโll update this review.

Did not work
Purchased this to recover files from a replaced SSD, plugged into computer and although the adapter itself was recognized, it did not recognize the connected SSD and was useless. Purchase a replacement from a different company and it worked perfect, was able to see and copy all files from the old SSD. Do not bother with this

Great Product.
Exactly what I needed at a decent price. This little device allowed me to salvage the data from my daughter's computer that was failing and actually use the salvaged hard drive as a back up disk. If this was encased in a hard case it would have been better but than I realize that the price would have been higher. Therefore for one time use this was incredible because my daughter was quoted hundreds of dollars to retrieve her data from the hard drive. I was able to remove the hard drive and use this device to access the data through USB port for under $10. WOW. Arrived in time, intact and worked perfectly. Thanks.

Good board for DIY enclosures, has breakpoints to make smaller.
It works with my 64GB 2242 SATA SSD, crystal mark speeds over usb 3.0 are displayed, mostly to show that it works. I really like that it has snap-off pieces for the 80mm and 60mm sections, since that allowed me to make a very compact case. Only problem I have with the design is that the USB port orientation places the SSD on the bottom when you plug it into a laptop, so it does limit the size of the heat sink you can attach. I'm using one of those slim heat sinks, so it fits just fine into my laptop's usb ports. Anything bigger though would run into problems. I've had one bug with it, where it would cause problems with anything that tries to write to it or change its files, but I've narrowed down the cause to Fan Control. When I turn off that program, it works fine, and has since been working fine with that program on. If you run into this issue, just try exiting and restarting fan control with the SSD in, before the bug happens. I turned off storage temperature sensors, which I think helped too. Every other computer, including my friend's PC that also has fan control, hasn't had a problem. It works on Windows 11, Windows 10, and MX linux no problem. Dimensions: From PCB end to USB tip: 0.585in PCB Length: 3.775in. PCB thickness: 0.037in PCB width: 1.055in M.2 Slot height: 0.12in From PCB end (USB side) to first break point: 2.287in To second break point: 2.975in I hope this helps someone! I think I will be buying more, this is a great board for developing stuff at a good price.

Perfect for plugging in my old SSD to my new PC
Since you have to screw down the drive you are putting in this adapter it's not really designed for quick changes, but you can swap out multiple different drives if you need to.

Trash Cans Ahoy
I bought one. Windows 11 will not recognize Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 SSD. Nor will my AOMEI cloner, or EaseUS Disk Copy Pro. I don't know what it's supposed to do, but you can't use this adaptor if you wish to get your computer to recognize M.2 SSDs for the purpose of copy or cloning for air-spaced hardware safety back ups. I will continue to search for such an adaptor. This one is trash. Don't waste your time or money in trying to get this adaptor to work with your windows 11 computer. I have used air-space security with the old sata SSDs for years and it's a good method if attacked by virus or hacks. This adaptor will not allow you to do the same this with the new NVMe M.2 SSDs in the newest Windows 11 computers. Don't waste your time. Look elsewhere.

Absolute LIFESAVER!
This was an absolute lifesaver! My laptop was unusable and I could not project onto another monitor, but this allowed me to take all the data off my SSD without hassle. The unit is a bit flimsy since it's really just the circuit board that connects to the usb port, but as long as your careful with it, all is good.

Didn't work for me
m2 drive worked fine in computer, so it is not the drive. windows 10 and 7 detect a USB device, but nothing happens. disk management does not see it, not does device manager. will return.
