Great product!
Using this to check my marinetrolling motor batteries to make sure they stay fully charged over winter. Easy to read and had a friend double check my readings with his and was a perfect match. Excellent product!!

It will get the job done
This tester isn't the best I've ever used but it will work and get the job done. The markings are a little hard to read depending on the light. I bought this to replace my tester that I've been using for over 35yrs and finally cracked beyond repair. If this tester will last half that long it will be doing good.

Leaks acid when drawing it up for measurement.
It leaks pretty bad when drawing up the acid. Gets acid everywhere. It's in the bin right now. Given it's used, I don't see any point in returning it.

Good Tester!
Works great but does use a lot of fluid. Larger than I expected. I am very happy with this tester

Easy to use as it only needs a small sample of battery fluiThe 5 floating disks is not as good as reading exact specific gravity
I upgraded this review because this tester requires very little battery fluid. On some batteries it is very hard to get much fluid from the battery but this tester does not need so much. It has a thin design that uses less fluid.I prefer the finely graduated scale of specific gravity - rather than counting how many of the 5 disks float. That's fine style for an antifreeze tester (which often has floating balls), but I think batteries can benefit from the older style gauge i had that read specific gravity to the 1/100th (i think). Maybe that older style used lead or was banned.

mumps. Better
We have 4 Trojan T105's on our sailboat. Our previous battery electrolyte tester was too small.I know from experience to flush this item with fresh water after each use.Very pleased.

tester needs work
I ordered this unit to test the battieries on my Solar system. It came well wrapped and on time. I used it to test 16 solar batteries but it showed them to be fair They are new and fully charged I have a metter on the charge cotroller and it shows them to be in excellent condition. It may be that these batteries are too large for this to test correctly.
