seems more secure than the ubiquiti shielded ends
These seem a little pricey, but they are solid connectors. I was able to bend the grounding collar out of the way for inserting the conductors, and then back down over the jacket for crimping without any of the tabs breaking or cracking. I did not have any notable frustration while trying to get the conductors pulled through. Each one has fit precisely into all of the devices that I've used them in. Keep in mind: these are designed for shielded Cat5e or Cat6 cable applications -- NOT for Cat6A or Cat7.I used a Klein Tools VDV226-110 crimper to fasten the RJ45 (which has been by far my favorite). Platinum tools of course recommends their $75 crimper, but if you already have a solid crimper that handles the pull-thru RJ45's you don't need theirs. I have also used the pull-through ends with a plain old crimper by simply trimming the ends of the conductors with clippers and then pulling them back 1/16th of an inch before clamping it down.I used the Platinum Tools CT-360 crimper to fasten the grounding collar, and experienced zero problems. You could maybe crimp the collar down with a pair of lineman's pliers if you're handy enough with them, but if you're going to do more than half a dozen of these at a time, having the CT-360 is worth it in my opinion. When I installed these, I used Ubiquiti ToughCable Pro (cat5e STP with ESD drain wire). There are a number of videos on youtube showing how to properly crimp down a connector like this one if you've never done it before.

Great LAN Fitting - Worth your Time and Money
I am a big fan of the Platinum Tools line and these shielded Cat5e/6 fittings are no exception. I just built several cables using a Shielded CMP 24AWG Solid Bare Copper CAT 5E cable and these worked great. Another nice thing about these is that they work with some cheap rubber hoods I had on hand. I could not get the Platinum Tools Cat5 or Cat6 strain relief fittings to work with these. On the subject of strain relief, I wish PTools would make the metal crimp a bit more generous so it could reach all the way around a LAN cable when crimped. Oddly enough, I had a couple of these fail on me, i.e., on testing (with a PTools VDV MapMaster, which I really like using) a couple pins showed as being open. I had never had a PTools fitting fail and I must have used a couple hundred of them by now.

Disappointing, almost great. too expensive
Almost great. Maybe the batch I got was QC fail. Shireen - FTP gel tape is a tight fit, some connectors won't work, end up tossing them aside. larger 23ga absolutely fails to slide through without excessive time and retries. Probably need a crimp tool that cuts ends off to speed things up, haven't found that.

... this is the only one that is piratical -- easy to use
tried a few options and this is the only one that is piratical -- easy to use, consistent result, good quality. The design allows you to push the shielded cover all the way to the end. This is almost impossible to achieve with other where the wires do not go through. I am not a electrician by any means but I can make a perfect one within five minutes or so CONSISTENTLY.highly recommended.

Good quality, but a little expensive.
These are overpriced in my opinion, but really great shielded connectors, just make sure to use it with a strain relief boot, or tape up the external ground to the cable to provide some bend protection. You know for sure that your ground connection to the shielding is good with these.I recommend buying the proper crimp tool, and external ground crimping die tool to make these properly and professionally.

Thick Cat 6 shielded this si what you need. Could be better though need to be more refined.
Heavy thick shielded cat6 this I what you need. I had to subtract two star the clip part that wraps around the cable is not strong like thick tin foil and becomes unbent sharp. Whish they had a strain release for this connector that hides that clip. Or maybe include a small pieces of shrink wrap just looks messy.

Don't buy this product!
I have made many terminations over the years and rarely have one that doesn't pass. Using this product that is not the case. I had several open connection errors and the external metal is poorly designed and is so too thin.

Great quality, easy to use
Great quality, easy to use, quick and simple to terminate. Very helpful when you're 45' up in a scissor lift or standing on a ladder, but a huge time saver either way
