Very expensive for what it does
Does provide thermal insulation with adhesion. Very expensive for what it does. Cheaper options are plenty

Fell apart within four weeks
I bought this to line the transmission tunnel on a 2013 Corvette. Had a GM mechanic install it at my Chevy dealer while swapping out the stock heat shield for an insulated one. A couple weeks later, we took the car on a four day trip and by the time we got home, the foil surface had completely de-laminated from the adhesive and had gradually torn off the underside of the car.Yesterday, I had a chance to take the Vette back to Chevrolet to put it on a rack. The adhesive backing was still perfectly adhered to the tunnel, but the foil layer was totally gone. This is very disappointing, because the labor to drop the exhaust pipes and pull the heat shield is expensive. As a result, it doesn't make economic sense to try to replace the heat barrier. This was an expensive lesson and a total waste of money.*****update*****. Received a call from ThermoTec apologizing for the problem and pledging a refund. He explained that they received a "defective lot" of the film and had received similar complaints. I appreciate the prompt response, but it doesn't solve the problem of shelling out more to a mechanic to re-do the job.
