Works Great for Thread Baskets
I don't do embroidery, so the I just tried this for the first time for thread bowls. (Wendy Hill's Incredible Thread-a-Bowls)The instructions for some of the bowls called for a layer each of both Super Solvy and Ultra Solvy. But when I saw the prices, I decided to just get the Super Solvy and try two layers of that. It worked perfectly. I don't know why the thread-bowl author calls for both, it was not explained.I'll brriefly describe the thread bowl process so this makes sense....You lay a paper form down on a work surface first (just for reference), then lay one layer of Super Solvy over that. Then you place all your threads (and other filler) for your bowl on the first layer of Solvy, extending out a bit past the paper reference guide. Place one more layer of Solvy over the threads. Slide out the paper form from underneat to get it out of the way. Pin the three layers together generously (Solvy, threads, Solvy). Sew (a lot) through the layers on your machine to hold everything together. Then pin sewn layers to paper form, so you can cut the sewn layers to correct size. Rinse 'most, not all' of the solvy out and place thread circle over inverted bowl till dry. Carefully remove and seal, and you have a beautiful thread bowl. These instructions are not as detailed as in the book, but I just want to give readers an accurate idea what I use the Solvy for. This review may not mean anything to embroiderers, but for 'thread-bowlers' please don't feel you need to buy both the Super and Ultra. This one works just fine.

Great for embroidering on Fleece!
I used this to embroider names on fleece. It took me a lot of research and looking around to figure out the way to embroider on fleece. There is NOT a lot of info online on how to do this. So hopefully this will help someone. I put a layer of medium weight tear away on the bottom, then the fleece, and then a layer of this over the top. That's it. That's the trick. It works and it looks nice. I've had no issues yet (knock on wood). I do use the hoop and I don't have any problems with overstretching the fabric or warping or waviness. It is a little thick to put in the hoop but just open it up a bit more then you normally would for most things.

Great product for embroidery
I love this product. It works just as intended and has made a huge difference in my embroidered items. My only wish is that it came in a plastic package that snapped closed instead of one that came stapled together. It would just be nice to return the roll to a protected package when not using since it is water-soluble.

Great Stabilizer
This is the perfect stabilizer for advanced, more dense embroideries. Although harder to tear away than cheaper stuff it definitely gets the job done and I always use it for designs that are prone to puckering.

Love all Sulky products
I love all Sulky products and that includes this. I do a lot of FSL embroidery and this works perfectly for that! I’ve made many thread ornaments, bookmarks etc, and this always works great!

Terrible!- edited 6/24/2013 It's wonderful!
I'm sticking with Vilene. Sulky Super Solvy isn't good for freestanding lace at all. In spite of a new needle and proper tension it got holes in it and created a tangled mess under the plate. I hope I have better luck using it on t-shirts or towels, if not then it's a total waste. The one star I gave it is for the hope I have that I can use it in other ways.Update: I've discovered that I can use it with two layers and it works wonderfully. I also discovered I was using a badly digitized design. The digitizing makes all the difference in the world. I will be buying more.

Water soluble works great
Use this for a lot of embroidery projects. Works great, especially when embroidering on towels. Just have to touch with a wet cloth a few times to get rid of extra stabilizer!

Perfect for single needle embroidery!
Good structure for home embroidery. Dissolves quickly in warm water.

Fonctionne bien!
J'ai utilisé le produit pour transférer une image. C'est facile de broder par dessus et ça s'enlève très bien avec de l'eau.

The disappointment came in the form of import duty which came ...
The product seems OK as I have not used it yet. The disappointment came in the form of import duty which came to £45. I think we the customer should be warned of this before we make the final commitment.
