Highest Bidder

Great
Wow! What a mystery. I was getting a little tired of Freya being so naive and listening to everyone. I was only sorry that there was not more activity against Juli than just a mention. I would have loved to see her destroyed. Great reading.

Not what I expected..pleasant surprise
Never though I'd say there was too much sex, though I have to admit it was well done...very intense! Just would have liked more story detail (because it was good). This story wasn't what I expected considering the storyline (selling her virginity to highest bidder because she and her Mom were on the verge of losing everything.). I expected more of a Dom sub relationship..but that is not what this is. While the H is an alpha male, he's actually very sweet to the h and even a little unsure where she's concerned. The h is a strong female (not subservient at all) and though attracted to the H has doubts because of things people are telling her (people out to get him or who want him for themselves). Would have liked more detail about H and h's history together in their youth and about what happened with his father's wife and mistress. The H remains a bit of a mystery until the end where the author reveals more of who he his and his past. She wraps it up pretty nicely, but I would have preferred a slower, more in depth reveal. (Maybe just because I liked it enough to want more.)All in all a good read!

Fabulous
When I first started reading it felt a little strange how some big scenes were skipped right over, like when Freya said she had a photo shoot the next day and then that just got skipped over, or how sometimes in this book Freya would be having a really important dialogue and then it would just say "and I left 20 minutes later"... and not give us the rest of the dialogue. BUT I'm conflicted because in most steamy romances like this I find myself skimming the lengthy dialogue so I half feel like the author is doing us a favor and cutting the excess to keep to the heavy romance. Interestingly, I enjoyed the story so much I would have happily read more in each scene. This has a lot more substance than the sex club premise of the book. There is a lot of family history, mystery, and character development. As far as characters, I really, really like Brent. The very first sex scene got rushed into a little bit, in a way that I didn't feel he was really described in an appealing way. Honestly I was picturing him something like a latin pirate and quite frankly a jerk and couldn't see the appeal at first, even for a bad boy type. But I tried picturing him more like the handsome face on the cover and it wasn't long at all before his character developed into one worth swooning over. At the end of the day, the reason why this steamy romance really earned its five star rating from me, if because I genuinely liked the characters, the plot, and I did want to read every word and not just skim.

Hmmm
I'm not sure how to feel about this book. The bidding on virginity didn't bother me. I think it was the slow build up to the plot line and what all of it meant. Story took turns that felt unexplained at some points but overall I like it.Story is a 4Steam is a 4.5Plot is a 3.5 just because it took along time to connect all the dots

Good read
It's a good read. Just interesting how the plot took twists and how it rushed to get to end. I enjoyed the characters even though some moments they annoyed me but it was entertaining.

Decent story
I enjoyed reading this book but I can’t give it 5 stars because the story seemed very far fetched, it was immature at points, and it’s not correct to refer to someone as an “Oriental” woman. Nice happy ending and it did draw me in so 4 stars is the final review.

I love the characters. The story is a no holds bar and so real. A guarantee to make your panty wer and mouth water.

Why is the heroine always needy?
I have never felt the need to jump into a book and hit a leading lady so much. Freya, who I thought was suppose to be a strong, independent and confident woman going to any lengths to help her mother save her livelihood turned out to be a needy pathetic idiot.Based on a previous book (Fugly) written by this author I was expecting a heroine with a backbone and witty come backs who doesn’t chase after a man.But Freya just came across as needy teenager with zero self respect and kept crumbling over a guy while her mother was sitting at home crying her eyes out over financial debt. She did what was right to help her mother but then lost focus on what’s important. The alpha of the book was dick to her but she just kept going back for more humiliation and still opened legs after. Pathetic! I’m done reading anymore books from this author

Not up to the author's usual high standard
I usually enjoy this author's books, and thought the build-up of the attraction and interaction between Brent and Freya was very well handled. However, I found the sex scenes in this one extremely repetitive, and skipped over many of the 'tongue-tangling' descriptions. In addition, why was Brent given the title Lord Lucan? An unfortunate choice in view of what became of 'Lucky' Lucan! The cover, too, was inappropriate. The male mode looks like a member of a motorcycle gang and nothing like the description of Brent in the book. And, though I may have missed something, who on earth is Stanley who suddenly appears on the last page?Freya's girlfriend, Maddie, seemed excess to requirements. Her attitude at times was very odd. At one stage, I thought she was in cahoots with Judi.Overall, this book appeared rather rushed and muddled and could have benefited from a closer editorial review. But I still feel that Georgia deserves a 4⭐ review, as she always creates unique characters, and carries me along with her amazing story-telling ability. Here's to the next one I read.

Boring storyline
I found the storyline non existent. Also, the book is based in England on English people yet American language is used throughout such as, mom, faucet, sidewalk etcVery disappointing read.

Ok.
Dont get me wrong It was really sweet story but the Americanisms really bloody annoyed me and there was quite a few, if it's going to be from the uk then dont use the word e.g. "trash" its "bin" or if ya want to be fancy "rubbish bin" . Freya started to Annoy me, she seemed to have no depth or personality. All in all it was a frustrating cute little read but compared to the other books I've read from georgia le carre this one just takes the biscuit🙄.Try her other books there's some real gems I especially loved her beauty & the beast modern day mofia romance. That was saucy as hell

Happiness can come from sadness
Always an easy book to read by this author. Relationship drama, family disputes and tragedy but love conquers all. Freya a 21year old is faced with financial ruin, following her mother inability to manage a life style she is not used too. Freya’s father , wealthy once, but now dead, has left them virtually penniless and ignored by their once wealthy friends, due to his untimely end and the cloud that covers his name. Freya has to find a solution to help her mother and herself. Here friends advise of an auction, where she sells herself to the highest bidder. A virgins auction. One night of being owned and used, that could help her, continuing at college, and her mother retain their flat and her ailing business. Brent steps in. The situation is resolved. As the story unfolds the drama increases. The erotic scenes are many but necessary to understand the turmoil. An intriguing book, full of twists turns and spiteful encounters but worth the read. Family dynamics abound and previous conquests are as ever bitter.
