Two units both with failing ports - first HDMI next USB ports
The first unit worked for a week - initial perceived that item is very small, lightweight but the thin metal in dark gray looks innocuous enough. It really is awkward setting up since the lack of heft makes the unit prone to twist or bend towards whichever external cable has torque. The languid USB-C power from Apple offered little to no assertiveness in that regard. The hub and power clicked just fine also. The HDMI cable I used -being especially thick from a PS3 era "monster with GOLD contacts era" did turn the hub into a contorting flip-about. So the HDMI was the main culrpit there. The Keyboard and mouse were Dell with a built in hub. Eventualy all was hooked up the hollow shell of a case now balanced and flat from the various inputs I was ready for business. The mac book air came up and worked fine after known issues having to power up - close the lid and type on keyboard to force external monitor. So all was ok for a week, I used the Ethernet port for lackluster connection. Next I had a need to write to a USB the setup was stable enough to drive a small 2-port USB hub on the Dell keyboard - allowed writing image to USB Stick there. Nice.I went back to Wifi only in another room - hooked up the setup - it worked for a day then HDMI stopped working - the USB stopped working (numlock on keyboard would not illuminate).The USB-C hub was tested on Dell PC laptop with USB-C - it failed to be recognized there also.Replacement was cross-shipped as I returned item. Hooked up replacement to MacBook Air and was pleased HDMI works. Unfortunately the USB ports (kb mouse anything ) are dead on arrival.\..Will be returning this also.

Stopped working within a year
Item quit working within a year of use. Very frustrated as it was an expensive device.

Poorly made, already broke
Was excited about this product, the price was good, functionality seemed good, worked great for about a month. Now the HDMI doesn't work at all, I've tried multiple monitors and multiple cables but nothing seems to work. It flashes the screen then blacks out. Crap product, now I will have to look for another.

Great! Until is wasn’t.
Worked as advertised for about six weeks. The ports have failed (in this order): HDMI, Ethernet, SD card. I have not traveled much with this hub and have treated it well. No drops, no excessive heat, etc. It seems to be just be of very poor quality.

Very Good and not expensive item
I just bought this item because I had issue with my labtopHDMI port but I was amazed with the material and design.
