One of the three connectors is a full 4-pin that reports the fan speed back to the motherboard, while the other two are 3-pin (they still get the 4-pin PWM signal for speed control). This allows your motherboard to control all three fans as a single unit, ramping them up or down together based on temperature. The build quality is great—the black braided sleeving looks clean and is easy to route, and the connectors feel solid and secure. The length is perfect, and the value for quality is 10/10.

f you’re building in a Rosewill RSV-L4000 or similar 4U chassis, you need these. Most motherboards only have 3 or 4 fan headers, but this case has 7+ fans. These Cable Matters splitters allowed me to group my front intake fans together and run them off a single PWM header. The 12-inch length is perfect for reaching across a large server chassis, and the build quality is much better than the cheap unbranded versions.

I picked up this 2-pack of Cable Matters 3-way 4-pin PWM fan splitter cables for my latest ITX build, and honestly, they made all the difference. For anybody that is into PC cable management or cable management in general these are a must have as backups and or if you are trying to run computer fans case fans whatever in tandem off of one power outlet or four pin connector whatever you want to call it. Having a half a dozen of these on hand is never a bad thing.

Setup my server with extra fans. These worked perfectly with 3pin fans.
