OK descriptions, sub-par pattern instructions
I have been trying to work on a project out of this book, but I can't get the patterns to work and the instructions are nowhere near clear enough to help me figure out my issues. The "in-book" patterns are so zoomed out as to be useless (I tried transferring by hand as they recommended, it was basically impossible), and when I printed out the patterns from their website they were the wrong size (the squares aren't 2"x2"). Furthermore, they leave out the necessary descriptions for several pieces--I wanted to put the pockets from one of the tutorial sections into one of the projects, but it wasn't explained well enough to follow. Very disappointed--I should have just gone out and bought a real pattern with cut-outs.

I love the photography and the explicit techniques used throughout the book. This book is an excellent must have in your library, whether you are a beginning or experienced dressmaker. There is something for everyone. This covers all the essential techniques in a way that is easy to understand.
