I used it to hold down the rug runners in my rv. I needed the tape to stick to the rug runners because they were always curling up and moving around. The tape is easy to use, very sticky but have a little patiencence pulling tape off, once started its easy to remove and stick down. The rugs now look good and are holdingin place nicely

I really had quite a time with this tape. I first cut a piece and took off the backing to apply the sticky piece to a carpet tread and it was worse than cellophane food wrap being all stuck together. Then I got the idea to cut the piece first and stick it to the carpet first and then remove the backing. So much better, except once I cut the tape the scissors got so sticky that they stuck to the tape. I tried a matte knife and had the same result. I soldiered through and did get the job done with a lot of pulling and tugging with the scissors. Seems to work great. I will have to see how it leaves my wood stair treads if, and when, I remove them. For now they keep them in place quite well!

This is exactly what you need to install carpet treads on hardwood stairs. It is removable, I confirmed this when I installed a carpet tread the wrong way and had to remove this tape from the hardwood. Sticks well and removes safely and clean.

Purchased for a small living room. No follow up to see if it works…

I have NOT tried to remove this, so can't speak to that.This is probably too much information, but probably important to set the scene for you about how well this carpet tape works: we have a special needs dog who puts a lot of sideways pressure on either side of the wall when he goes up and down the stairs. Because he does this, he needs extra grip on our hardwood stairs. We bought him carpet runners that would also just slide when he used them despite the rubbery rug slider stuff we put underneath which was frustrating for all of us. It took about 30 minutes and some scissors after this arrived for me to put two strips on each carpet runner and they are solidly in place. We have been living with them for a few months now and they have not moved at all. The dog says to give this carpet tape five stars, so here we are!

This tape is really good. Really sticks to the carpet, but it's tough to remove without taking some of the carpet fibers with it. It definitely does the job though. Those rug runners aren't going anywhere.

Product advertises no residue, this is blatantly untrue. Applied a few strips to hold runner in place on garage floor, spent hours removing residue. Neither paint thinner, naphtha nor acetone worked. Finally used scraper, paint thinner and scotch brite pad and scrubbed, wiped, scrubbed, wiped etc. until clue was soft enough to remove. Do not use this tape on hardwood floors.
