Perfect!
I bought this fan for my home gym and I really like it. There are (3) speed settings. I prefer slowest or medium speed since they both move plenty of air [for my needs] and the fastest speed is noticeably louder. The fan comes with a hanging chain (as pictured) to adjust speed and a nice long power cable. For mounting, see 2nd picture. I used a 1.5" thick hardwood off-cut, and mitered the ends to 45° so it would sit flush with my walls. In the middle, I counter-bored a hole for a 1/4" bolt and washer (not included). I pre-drilled (3) holes at each end and used screws to attach the wood directly into ceiling studs. (Personally, I would not feel so comfortable with this fan hanging on drywall anchors). Then I could attach the fan to the wood using a 1/4" nut and washer (not included). My piece of wood is roughly 36" long which is just long enough to allow the fan to swivel without contacting my walls.

The Perfect Porch Fan
I purchased two of this exact fan seven years ago. Love them so much that I purchased another for my screened/covered porch (out of the elements). This fan is top quality and a great value for the money. It only went up $10 in cost from seven years ago. The high quality is just as good today. Extremely easy to install. I opted for only one screw as I wanted to tilt and rotate the fan. I simply added a flat head washer on each side of the mounting bracket. The fan is extremely stable and the noise level is not overwhelming even on high. I highly recommend this fan.

Great fans. We have two that make a nice wind funnel in our shop. One had a bent arbor but we exchanged it.
We have two in our shop to circulate air. The first one works flawless. The second one came today and the Arbor is bent so the van vibrates on all three speeds. So I just exchanged it. I work around machinery all the time so I'm never surprised when I see a bent Arbor. They have a lot of work to do and have to be aligned near perfect. Overall these are great fans BUT they are powerful and move a lot of air, so they will be louder than your typical indoor plastic fans. I would consider these 'Shop fans' and if you get two you can make a nice wind funnel in your space and stay cool in the hottest days. 4 stars only because of the second one with a bent arbor but these are going to work great for their proper use.

Awesome fan! Powerful!
I can't believe how great this fan is for the price! It's great quality and powerful blowing are awesome. There's not much difference between high and low but on a hot day this is fantastic. We also use it to improve drying time on painted projects. Seller even followed up after the delivery to make sure everything was ok. It's a great addition to our shop! Can be mounted on about anything, a pole, wall or ceiling in minutes. Highly recommend.

it's noisy and i like it
i put this sucker on the wall of a bedroom in an old farm house i own.it runs 24/7 and keeps air moving through this tiny house. it was deliveredin good working order and was what i completely expected. there are three mountingholes in the bracket, so more than one supporting bolt/screw can be installed.a plastic type floor fan, of the same size, was being used but this thing putsout twice as much air. it's fairly loud, some people mightnot like that, but i sleep better with noise from a fan. the louder is the betterwith me as long as it is constant. i also like the air circulation to be like that of a beach.the money i paid for it was modest compared to other metal fans, and in time,i will know if it can stand the 24/7 strain of running. i will edit this postif/when it burns out.btw, i use a fan to circulate heat through the house too. i might turn it downto it's medium setting this winter though.
