Quite possibly the best portable "overhead" sprinkler for smaller lawns.
I have a lawn that is split into two areas that are each no bigger than about 25 ft square. I’ve tried plastic “oscillating” and “stationary” sprinklers and found them difficult to adjust and virtually useless for efficiently getting water to the farthest corners of the “square” of my lawn. Unfortunately although overhead “impact” type sprinklers are far easier to situate and adjust for reaching every corner of a lawn, the ones that are readily available in stores are for much larger spaces. It took me a long time to find a “portable” (used with garden hose) overhead sprinkler that would work for such a small space. I was so happy to finally find these “gear driven” sprinklers which I use on the Orbit 1/2-Inch Metal Ring Sprinkler Base 58030 that I also purchased on Amazon. Although this sprinkler head would work better on a slightly larger lawn, it works fine for my small lawn if the faucet is set to a low enough (but not too low!) water pressure/output and with the water trajectory adjusted low to the ground. Arch of coverage is easily adjusted by moving the orange tabs on either side of the sprinkler output piece. Water trajectory likewise easily adjusted via the faucet output or moving the output piece on the head forward or backward. On occasion they will stop oscillating in high winds and/or if there is not enough water pressure, which can be a little frustrating, but usually fairly easily remedied with an adjustment. The fact that it is made out of plastic also makes it feel a bit cheap and fragile. Nonetheless this head with that metal Orbit base had worked well enough for the past month (about 3 hours/week) and makes it so much easier to reach every corner of my lawn that I purchased a second set for use in tandem on the other half of the lawn.Update: I've been using these for about a year now on in conjunction with the Orbit 1/2-Inch Metal Ring Sprinkler Bases 58030 sold here on Amazon. I've been using them for about an hour at a time, 3 times a week on average minus a day or two here and there (due to rainy days of which there were many this past year.) I have never removed these sprinkler heads from the Orbit bases since I first assembled them together. I attach a hose to use them and then afterwards remove the hose and empty the unit as best as I can and store it away in a "shed" away from the elements. The Orbit bases seem to be rusting a bit, but presumably since they're made of plastic, these heads themselves still seem to be working just as well as when I first got them. My original pet peeves when using them remains--the fact that they will cease oscillating if the water pressure is not high enough makes it tricky to adjust for use on my small lawn. I also still worry that these heads are fragile so have taken some care in handling them over the year, but with such precaution, they've held up just fine

best sprinkler design
If there is a better sprinkler design than this one I have not found it in 40+ years. It is quiet, is easy to adjust the range and has reasonably uniform coverage. Hopefully it will last as long as the one it is replacing which lasted over 15 years. (When these do fail repair is impossible as they are glued together.) I qualify with hopefully because 15 years ago they were made in Israel while today they are made in Taiwan. I immediately noticed that quality control is now somewhat lacking as the output holes on the unit I received were blocked with plastic flash from the injection process (see pictures before and after I cleaned away the flash). Maybe it was assumed that the water pressure would blast away the flash, I have my doubts that this would fully be the case. Even partial blockage would screw up what is obviously a design that some thought was given to. My 15 year old failed unit has the same exact orifice design.

Product didn't make it through 1 season.
Very short lived chinese product bought from "life and home". Has 2 tabs for setting arc of area to be watered. One tab has no tension at all so nozzle just pushes it out of the way, you end up watering everywhere. Sure, it's over the 30 day warranty . Seller chooses not to help. Crap is crap.

Easy to adjust for nearly all watering needs.
I bought a couple of these sprinklers several years ago and finally had to replace them. One failed to stop the rotation and no longer went back and forth. The other was dropped, breaking the little tab tab that limits the swing/arc. I was able to remove the tab from one and transfer it to the other and I expect it to last for more seasons. I bought two and now have a backup for insurance. I wish they made a popup type head for automatic underground watering systems.

Naan Sprinklers 525023
I have been purchasing this product for the past 25 yrs. It's gear/rotation system has never failed! I just re-landscaped my house and of course I have used these sprinklers for the lawn and large planting areas. It delivers an outstanding water pattern and high water output compared to pop-up lawn spinklers by Rainbird and the rest of them. Unlike the Rainbird, Toro, etc., you can adjust the sprinkler pattern extremely easy with the finger moveable tabs on the top of the sprinkler. The other brands do not offer any easy adjustment system anymore (at least for the past 15 yrs). This sprinkler is extremely reliable and long lasting as compared to the more expensive name brands. Note: this is not a pop-up, however I use these in the corners of my lawn to sweep the lawn or inside the border of a planting area to sweep the lawn. This will keep your gardener from damaging them. Also if you take a 6 inch piece of PVC schedule 40 pipe that has an inner diameter of this sprinkler and push it in the lawn on the sprinkler so it protects it like a wall, you will have no problems from your gardener breaking.

They only last for one year
This is a good manual sprinkler. The main problem is that after one season the gears get stuck and the sprinkler gets stuck in one position and will not oscillate and I have to purchase new sprinkler every season.
