We used regular tall kitchen waste baskets for recyclables for many years until we broke down and bought a couple of these. The great thing is that when visitors/family etc are over for dinner, etc and want to help clear the table... they know at a glance which is the trash and which is the recycling containers.

My younger kid, who handles trash and recycling, complained mightily about the last two or three recycling bins we had in our kitchen. They were too big, or had holes that let small items slip out, or cracked easily.This one seems to be the Goldilocks bin. I actually wish it were a shade bigger -- more like our 13-gallon trash can -- because it'd be easier to toss things into from the kitchen sink, and I wouldn't have to ask the kid to take it out as often. But he likes it, and it fits nicely in the space we have for it, so it was a good choice. (Nice color, too.)

I sense your judgement! You wonder why such a whimsical blue wonderland of positive thinking ended up in my dome of safekeeping. It is true, I have acquired the blue container of holding! Now I shall fill it with the plastics and the glasses and the cardboard and the tin and aluminum! Oh to hear their cries and lamentations! "You fool!" I hear them cry, "how could you do such a thing!" But I laugh at their horrified faces as I fill my blue container of holding again, recycling and reusing, over and over. They beg me to stop, but I refuse. They try to bribe me with wine and fine gifts but I recycle their bottles and wrapping paper, sneering in their heartbroken faces. Humanity cries out in alarm, but it is too late! THE BLUE CONTAINER OF HOLDING HAS BEATEN THEM ALL!!!

Great compact apartment sized sturdy recycle can that is the right size for 1 to 2 people. I use this in my kitchen pantry for recycleables and I take them out 1 to 2 times per week. Depending how much company I have.It seems to be just right for me as 1 person to last 1 week and I recycle more things than throw away.It's a great sturdy well made plastic. Very thick and it's a good size.

It's completely my fault for not realizing how small this is. I wish I had bought the next size up. I have a family of three and we fill this literally every day or day and a half. It's not a huge deal, but it would've saved me quite a few trips to the garage to empty it if I bought the bigger one. If you drink water from water bottles or drink coke, get the next bigger size. If you've never recycled before, you'll be amazed at how much you actually recycle. Buy the next size up if you have the room in your kitchen for it.The product works as needed, so I didn't want to ding stars for it. It would be an amazing office bin. As a kitchen bin, it's way too small.

We have a big recycling bin that we keep in the garage, but we also needed something for inside the house so when we have guests over they wouldn't have to ask us if we recycle or not. LOL. With this slim bin, that goes well up against any wall or cabinet drawers... all our guests just goes straight to this bright blue bin with the recycle logo without having to hunt us down to ask. We host alot of parties at our house so it's super helpful. When the night is done, we just simply take this light bin out to the garage and dump it into our big recycling bin.

Like these but they crack easily when trash man throws them back near my house :( I do not stuff recycle stuff into them because they are a bit more delicate than I expected. That said, it is noticeable, and so far I have had used them for about 6 months. The top (lip) has cracks and is torn below the lip but is still works. When I replace it, I will seek a rubber type recycle container that is more durable.

Lots of space for the garbage, which is an improvement to my previous one. Durable design.

Nothing to write home about, but it's a garbage bin. It doesn't smell weird, it's sturdy and looks/feels well built. Good size, fits a grocery bag perfectly. No complaints - 5 stars.

For reference, this bin is about the size of a running shoe box. It's pretty tiny, but if you only need it for a small area then it's fine.

Size: 3.25 GallonAs a dedicated paper/cardboard recycling bin, it's great!I put it next to a side door and put some of the bigger cardboard between it and the door/wall; there are easy enough to pick up by hand but the bin itself allows me to easily transport small cardboard pieces.Notice the Mountain Dew Voltage box hiding in the background. This bin works for rednecks and hillbillies too. Earlier there was a box of generic grape soda. Both were bought from Walmart, naturally. (I've been told only rednecks and hillbillies go to Walmart and drink Mountain Dew and generic grape soda. Turns out hillbillies have great taste when it comes to soda).
