Q: Do the drawers hang on the side like other carts?

Yes. Drawers come with cart n there’s cup holder slider on one side n accessory compartment on the other side.

Q: How you put the wheels on ?

It has been awhile since I put it together but they are usually just the push in type. There is a hole made in the plastic and the wheels have a connector piece at top that just pushes into the plastic. I’m sorry not to be more help but gave it as a gift and can’t look at it to tell you for sure.

Q: Can pullout for appliances hold hot irons?

No the holder for the curling iron melted
