Beautiful guitar
Love this guitar. However, mine came with a crack in the finish of the clearcoat on the headstock. Very disappointed! Called to return, instead ended up keeping it because amazon offered me a discount on the guitar i could not pass up. The guitar sounds great and vibrates throughout the entire neck! Thing looks gorgeous other than the blemish. The selector switch does get in the way when play so be prepared to adjust your playing to avoid hitting it. The guitar sounds and plays like a much more expensive guitar! Good job schecter!

I LOVE this guitar!
I've wanted a Schecter PT ever since I saw Pete Townshend of The Who play one in their Eminence Front video. I finally got one! This guitar has no weaknesses. It plays easy, very versatile-especially with the coil splitting feature-very durable, stays in tune. I have noticed that it seems to play easier with lighter strings.I use Ernie Ball super slinky #8 strings. But that might just be me.Anyway, I would recommend this guitar to anyone that wants a great guitar for a reasonable price.

Sad to see that Amazon even let this out the ...
This was a used purchase through Amazon. Neck wasn't straight. Fretting out on the A string. Guitar was filthy. You think they would have at least wiped it down. Tone pot was loose.. Sad to see that Amazon even let this out the door. Poor quality control.

Get it for gigs!
Decided to take a chance on this and it was one of the best purchases I've made this year. This is an excellent workhorse guitar. Solid setup right out of the box. Taken it out and abused it for several shows, not a scratch on the thing. Get lots of compliments on the cool jet-black looks and Tele street cred. Nice and light too, 3 hour gigs, no problemo. Coil splitting makes it really versatile for rhythm playing. Bridge, saddles, and tuners are good quality. Neck is thin, glossy and nice and fast. Frets are fat and easy to play.A couple of items to consider before you buy: the frets are not completely smooth on the edges which can hurt a bit if you slide up the neck quickly. Tone knob has a pretty low resolution but you'll probably keep it dimed constantly anyway. Visually I would prefer the binding to be whiter and less yellow. The glossy finish does pick up finger smudges quickly so make sure to wipe it down before taking the stage!I've also seen complaints about the placement of the pickup selector. I do occasionally flip it unintentionally when flailing my picking hand but if you keep good control it's not a big problem, and certainly not a dealbreaker. Overall couldn't believe the value for my money. 100% satisfied.

I've been wanting this guitar for a long time
When I ws a kid in the 80's a video came on Mtv of the Who's "Eminence Front" Pete Townsend and Roger Daultry show up pre concert for what looks to be a soundcheck and you start hearing the synth and drums start up in the background. Pete get's on Stage as well as Roger and the both done the same piano shiny black double hum-bucker no pick guard maple neck Schecter telecasters. I've never been a big fan of telecasters , but something about these were just outstanding, the sans pick guard which usually made me think country, the double hum buckers replacing the standard single coils , the bound body accenting the beautiful mirror like black finish, Oh My God , this was different from any telecaster I had ever seen. over the years it kept coming back into my mind and I would try to price one out to make it from one of the guitar body and neck custom shops only to get discouraged by the price. I was trying once again to custom order (finding out that just the body would run $700+ when I did a short search to find out that Schecter was selling a PT copy , sure it's made in Korea and the volume and tone pots aren't mounted straight as in Pete's original , but it doesn't take away anything for me , I can't tell if the cream binding is masked and painted or true binding because I don't see any artifacts of edge lines, and I would have loved if the binding showed more from the front but the sound is good right out of the box and the pull / tone single coil tap switch brings out more of the standard telecaster sound. Being a tinkerer I have already solid mounted the pickups and installed flush mount strap locks , I also adjusted the neck and need to replace a couple saddle adjustment screws (m3) set screws on the low E string to get just a touch more adjustment height. The sound of this guitar just gets better the more you play it, the body has great resonance when played as well as the neck. Thank You Schecter for making an affordable copy of the guitar I've wanted for so many years.

Decent
Original review: Great guitar. Sound is amazing, especially for the price. Extremely solid build. Great buy!Edit (5/15/19): After owning this guitar for about 5 months, I'm afraid I have to change my review. The tone knob was a little loose when I got it but it eventually started literally rattling around. I tried to tighten the nut but it just kept spinning even though I was holding the pot from the back. Turns out my pot is stripped, whoever screwed it on at the factory did it crooked and the threads are ruined. I was afraid that was the case and the guitar tech I took it to said the same thing without me telling him. We temporarily 'solved' the problem by using a smaller nut but the knob is still not completely tight in there and the whole pot is going to need to be replaced eventually. There were a few cosmetic issues when I first got the guitar but it's otherwise solidly crafted so I was happy at first. This totally sucks and was like a sleeper issue that made it impossible to return the guitar because it didn't show itself til months after the purchase. Just beware of the electronics and switch quality and send it back as many times as you need. There is another review on here complaining of a loose tone knob, I hope I didn't get his guitar but just be especially aware of that.
